Can I guess again? Or one guess per customer. Reply #41. May 29 19, 9:54 PM |

"I would like to guess. It's a crocodile." Nope, not a crocodile. (Usually I will likely be a little more specific than just crocodile. "Can I guess again? Or one guess per customer." Hm, I think one guess per customer looks like the way we should go with this game. That way, you really have to be sure or close to sure instead of randomly throwing out lots of guesses. I think I'll amend the rules to reflect this. Reply #42. May 29 19, 10:04 PM |

One guess seems to be too harsh. Like, obviously nobody should keep guessing one after other, but multiple attempts should be allowed I feel. How about three guesses max, with guesses in multiple days? Just a suggestion. Reply #45. May 29 19, 10:07 PM |

Three guesses might be reasonable, but I also don't want the game to devolve into a huge one-at-a-time guessing game once we get close to the end. It's better for more yes/no questions to be asked to narrow down the topic. I wasn't really sure what to expect when we started the game, so we can kind of experiment and see what works best and change the rules after a few rounds if need be. For this first round, I didn't say only one guess, so I can honor multiple guesses until we decide to change the rules. But you DO HAVE TO write your question before you can guess again. Reply #46. Sorry, Trident - I see we posted almost at the same time. I was addressing Angikar's comment regarding multiple guesses. Reply #48. May 29 19, 10:15 PM |

Oh! A guess means writing another question. And about my guess! Thinking on the comments, I feel one guess is interesting. We have to pit more questions to narrow down the options against someone else guessing first. Nail biter. Off to write my question. Reply #49. May 29 19, 10:20 PM |

No worries, MotherGoose. I think one guess is where we are going to go in the future. I didn't make it the rule for this round, so I think it's fair to allow more guesses until the rule is changed. Reply #50. May 29 19, 10:34 PM |

I would love to address your guess, Creedy, but what Kyle was referring to was rule 4 in which you need to contribute to the question chain by asking a yes/no question before you can make a guess. This is so that players who contributed earlier don't feel like they did all the hard work before someone who hadn't helped out just comes and gives the answer. Reply #52. May 30 19, 12:20 AM |

Trident, you stated in the opening topic that "3. If you would like to make a final guess as to what the thing is, you must put the word GUESS before your guess. This is for clarity’s sake. Ex. GUESS: Is the thing The Statue of Liberty?" That's what I did. In reply 51, I stated "GUESS: Is it a salmon?" Doesn't that qualify? Reply #54. May 30 19, 1:41 AM |

'I have to ask a separate question first?' Yes - you need to have contributed to the questions narrowing down the answer before making a guess. And with only one guess allowed, you need to be pretty sure that you're at least close to knowing the answer. Reply #56. May 30 19, 1:47 AM |

Q1: Is it a city? -- No. Q2: Is it blue? -- No. Q3: Is it a movable object? -- Yes. Q4: Is it edible? -- Yes. Q5: Is it bigger than a bread box? -- Yes. Q6: Is it an animal? -- Yes. Q7: Is it a carnivore? -- Yes. Q8: Is it furry? -- No. Q9: Is it aquatic? -- Yes. Q10: Does it fly? -- No. Q11: Is it a mammal? -- No. Q12: Has this animal appeared in any films? -- Yes, though the films I found either were animated or the animal was portrayed as a monstrous creature. The animal was never famous for its portrayal. Rossian, your single question topic is -- Patagonian toothfish. Reply #58. May 30 19, 2:27 AM |
