I think this may be a bit of an overreaction. But it doesn't directly affect me, as I don't attend NBA games and rarely bother even watching them, except the Finals.

It probably is but better safe than sorry. Even if it helps to keep people from panicking, it might be worth it.

They are also playing most of the March Madness games without crowds.

I have no idea how to contain a pathogen, but having large groups of people packed in next to each other doesn't sound like a good idea right now. Once one person starts coughing or sneezing, it will be chaos.

Tried buying some disinfecting wipe but Wally World was sold out, so was Dollar General.

I don't much like basketball, to be honest. Let's see what happens with Major League Baseball. If that shuts down as well, then I guess we'll have to wait until football season to see if the panic is still around then.

I thought they were going to play the NCAA with minimum staff and no crowds but they called off everything.

Like I said people are making runs on tissues and wipes and whatever else they think they need to horde.

Last time I stocked up for something like a extended power outage, I ended up with a bunch of bottled water that lasted me a year. Plus I was always trying somewhere to put it all to keep it out of my way.

Postponing or suspending all sporting events is the right thing to do.

I agree, suspending events with large attendance, is the right move. But, it is very disappointing, from a purely fan standpoint. March Madness is one of my favorite spectator events of the year.

Mine as well. I'm also glad that NCAA didn't produce a bracket list.
