This is a short story that i wrote. Hope you like it.
Crazy Father

Mia was out taking her usual morning walk before school in an empty park. Her long brown hair was blowing into her face and getting into her eyes. Finally, she gave up and put it into a ponytail. “Mia?” said a voice from behind her. “Ronny! You’re back!” yelled Mia as she turned around. When she turned around, she was suddenly enveloped in what she thought at first was one of her brother’s famous bear hugs. She soon figured out that who she had thought was her returned army brother was actually a stranger who was trying to cover her face with a cloth soaked in chloroform.
“It’s okay honey. Everything will be okay.” The man sighed as she began to pass out. As soon as she was completely out the man took her to his car and carefully put her in the backseat. After this was done, he quickly drove away.
Bang! Mia woke with a start. “Morning Mia,” said the man, “Did you sleep well?”
Mia was in a bed in the back corner of a cozy looking room that she, under better circumstances, would have admired. The man was at the other side of the room near the door. Now that she could get a better look at him, she neither saw nor heard any resemblance to her older brother. This man had brown, shaggy hair and was six feet tall, unlike her brother who has a buzzcut hair is five-foot nine. The only thing unattractive about this stranger was the fact that he had kidnapped her and brought her to this unknown place.
“Who are you and why did you kidnap me!” asked Mia.
“Well, I’m Cal and I didn’t kidnap you. It’s not kidnapping if I’m just bringing you home,” he said.
“What? You didn’t bring me home! This is not my home!” She yelled angrily.
“Of course, it is hon.’ This will always be your home,” he said to her kindly and then said to himself,” Dang it! They must’ve wiped her!”
Now, as one would expect, Mia was very confused as to what he was talking about. She watched as he started to move closer to her and she realized that he had that look in his eyes. The look of someone who if you saw them, you would turn around and head in the opposite direction.
“How is this my home? I’ve never even been here,” she said quietly
“I know you can’t remember, honey. They wiped your mind,” he said in a reasonable tone.
“Who wiped my mind---- and why do you keep calling me honey!”
“Because I’m your father! I thought you would have figured that out already, but I suppose I should just tell you who you are,” he said.
“No, no, no. That won’t be necessary. Just tell me who you think wiped my mind!”
“The aliens! Five months ago, they came to the house and took you away from me! I finally found you three weeks ago and planned how I was going to get you back home.”
“Buzzzzzzz!” went Cal’s phone.
“I got to go. Stay here please. Your food is over there.”
He pointed to a small table near the door and then walked out. She heard a click as he shut the door. She slowly got out of bed and went to the small table. She wasn’t exactly in the mood to eat anything right then, so she tried to open the door. Sadly, but not unexpected, it was locked. The only thing to do was wait and see what would happen.
Cal came back several hours later and asked how she was doing. When she didn’t answer he said “Oh don’t be like that. I already told you why I took you!”
“You’re crazy! I’m not your daughter, I wasn’t taken by aliens and this is not my home! My name is Mia and I have an eighteen-year-old brother that is in the army! I live with my mom and dad! And I don’t believe in aliens!” she yelled. He left the room quietly as she started to cry. She became overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions. “Does mom think I ran away? Will I ever see her or Ronny again?” she thought. She started to sob hysterically which soon turned into a full-out scream. Eventually she stopped screaming and cried herself to sleep.
When she woke up, she yelped. Cal was standing near the bed watching her. “How long has he been standing there?”, she thought to herself. He just stayed there staring at her with those sad but crazy eyes of his. She then heard the whooping of sirens and was incredibly surprised to find no trace of alarm in his face. He just calmly walked to the door and then said, “Come with me, please.” She looked at him with confusion. “You called the police?” she asked, “Why?” He stopped and turned to look at her. “Because you are my daughter and I love you. I don’t want to cause you any more pain.” He then turned around and started walking out the door. She got up and followed him.
The rest was a haze to her. She faintly remembered the police arresting Cal and the paramedics taking her to the ambulance. They had said something about her being in shock and needing to take her to the hospital but after that nothing. Next, she knew she was waking up in a white-walled, hospital room. A nurse had just walked in.
“Oh good. You’re awake,” she said, “How are feeling?”
“Fine, I guess. He didn’t hurt me.” said Mia.
“Says the girl they found in shock.” said the nurse. “You’re all healthy so you’ll be going home today, okay?”
“Okay. Will I be allowed to see Cal?” she asked. The nurse looked shocked. “Well--- if you’d like to but are you sure you want to?”
“Yes ma’am, I’m sure.” she said to the nurse as she looked at her.
About an hour later her parents were driving her home as they, per her request, told her what the police had said about Cal. His full name was Calvin Menning and was “obviously” clinically insane. Mia had started to wonder whether he really was insane though. “Are aliens real? Had he been telling the truth?” were all thoughts flying through her head. Apparently, he was going to be institutionalized the next morning so instead of heading home they changed direction and headed to the police station so she could go see him.
When they arrived, she hurried to get out and go see him to make sure he was okay. Right before she got to the doors there was a gun shot and she screamed. Her parents, who were waiting in the car, jumped out and ran to her. She ran inside and saw where the shot had come from. “No!” she screamed. Somehow Calvin had gotten ahold of one of the officers’ guns and shot himself. The officers hurried to take her out of the station and asked her name. “Mia Cuthright,” she said. The officer looked surprised and held out a piece of paper. “He wrote this for you, Miss Cuthright.” She looked at the paper for a second before taking it. “Thank you.”
Mia,
If you have this note my plan worked and I’m dead. I know you think I’m crazy but please believe me. Aliens did take you and once I saw your “parents” I knew I wasn’t just some crazy old man too. They are the aliens and they filled your head with fake memories.
I’m sorry this note is so short but just know that I love you and I’m so sorry if I hurt you.
Love,
Your Father
She didn’t even know what to think but eventually decided to just ignore it and get on with her life. She wouldn’t let it get to her. At least that’s what she led her “parents” to believe. Little did they know that she had started believing every word as she watched and interacted with them. She started to notice things and began to plan out her move.
