Subject: Regarding Teams: New Guidelines

Dear Players,

While we appreciate that most players are behaving maturely and using teams as intended, e.g. groups of players with similar interests who enjoy chatting or playing competitive games together, we occasionally see some behaviors that go against the spirit behind our team ethos. In particular we have observed players who change teams frequently, thereby disrupting the competition between teams, and others who abuse the recruitment process simply to get the Team Leader badge.

As a result we are introducing new guidelines with regard to teams:

1. Please change teams no more frequently than once per month.

2. If you would like to find out more about a team's style and activity before joining, please check the Team Stats page and/or contact the leader, and feel free to ask questions.

3. If you join a team in leagues A or B, please do NOT immediately play team games for them. Instead, look around first and only play if you plan to stay for at least a few weeks. If you wish to join a competitive team (League A or the top 10 of League B), please do so by the 14th of the month. (This does not apply if you are reacting to an invitation - feel free to act on those immediately.)

4. Do not leave a team if you have already played the team games on that day. Games you play are counted for the team you are in at the end of the day, so if you play and then leave, you are denying your previous team a score they may rely on as being there.

5. Respect a team's decision to exclude or remove you. That includes not circumventing the "invite only" setting and not rejoining a team that has removed you or asked you to leave.

6. If you are trying to establish or grow a new team please use the team recruiting board to advertise once a month (maximum). Do not send out invite messages in bulk; keep invite messages to a maximum of 20 per month to existing FunTrivia members. This limit does not apply to messages you send to friends and family who are not yet FunTrivia members and whom you wish to invite to join the site.

7. Do not reinvite the same person more often than once in six months.

It will hopefully rarely be necessary to enforce these rules, but if we get complaints about members going against these guidelines we will act on those complaints, including but not limited to:

- setting individual restrictions on team-related behavior
- temporarily or permanently removing team membership or leadership privileges
- as a last resort, banning the offending account.
