Subject: Questions taken out of context

Is it likely that the questions from a quiz in For ChildrenĀ» History for Kids will be taken out of the quiz and used independently in games etc.?

More to the point, is it necessary to repeat some of the info from one info section to the next? For example, keep repeating "Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the Second Continental Congress met and adopted the Declaration of Independence or is it all right to just say Philadelphia and trust the quiz taker to remember the rest?

I don't want to talk down to the quiz taker. At the same time, it is conceivable that Philadelphia on its own might mean nothing to someone seeing the question isolated in a game. What's the best approach?

That category is definitely up for inclusion in timed games. As for repeating information, I would suggest that you write your quiz as an entity, only repeating in the information what you think works in the quiz. If something needs to be repeated in each question to make the question work, that is different (I think here of Religion questions that need to specify the version of the Bible they use when referring to specific terms, for example).

If your editor thinks it would be better to repeat some information in multiple questions, that is a conversation you can have with them. You don't have to get things perfect the first time! My bottom line is that you are writing a coherent quiz, not a collection of ten independent questions, so treat it that way.
