My advice (and what I was told when I had this question many years ago about a quiz I was writing that I thought could fit in either of two categories) is to explore the likely spots, and get a feeling for the quizzes that are there. Pick the one that you think is most like the quiz you have in mind, and then write it to fit there. In this case, if you choose Animals, frame the questions to be about the animals, and include the athlete in the question narrative and the information. If you choose Sports, the questions should be about the athlete and his/her athletic accomplishments (although a Sports editor could advise how much latitude they allow for non-sport aspects of their life being the basis of the question). Almost anything can find a home of sorts somewhere in General, but it is better to get a more focused location if possible - your quiz could easily get lost in the abundance of General quizzes, and not be noticed by players who would find it really interesting. Looking at this as a General editor, I'd probably send it over to People. If they then sent it back, I'd accept it. Reply #2. Sep 08 23, 7:31 PM |

I ended up focusing on the animal, and just mentioned the athlete's involvement briefly in the question to help frame it and then in the I/I as some additional bonus info to the animal-specific info I included. Rossian said she would accept it into Animals :) Reply #3. Sep 08 23, 7:44 PM |
