Could one of the Editors please delete my two failed attempts to write a quiz, they can be found in the People Category, Ty!

Feel free to use the template for anything you wish to. You can change the format, contents, etc. to your liking. We can always change the category if your new quiz should go elsewhere.

Just leaving them is fine too. There's no obligation to submit a quiz if you don't want to and it doesn't hurt to sit empty.

You do not need to finish them. Rather than deleting them, we ask authors who have not ever submitted a template to simply remove what has been entered, and write their new quiz on the same template. You can change it to a different format, if you want. If you want to write in a different category, then you can either move it there or (since that is rather tedious because it involves several steps of moving to the new top level category, saving, moving to the next level, saving, etc.) you can have an editor do that for you. Possibly that is simplest if you submit the unfinished template with a message to the editors in the box provided saying where you want it to be so that you can then wrote your new quiz.

I just happened to see this and it's good to know we can change them instead of deleting, but I am curious what is the reasoning behind not wanting us to delete?

A created template that someone isn't going to touch is doing no harm. If it never goes online, it'll either be deleted somewhere down the line by an editor going through all the old, unfinished templates (possibly to be put up for adoption if the author is long-gone and the quiz is well on its way) or, if the author changes their mind, they can simply refashion the template.

It's less about wanting authors to delete their templates and more about needing editors to manually remove them when there's no real need to take that step. Just trying to avoid unnecessary precedent.

Plus, I've had authors who asked for a template to be deleted come back, sometimes years later, and manage to figure out a way to fix the quiz and get it online. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

LT, it is now much easier to change a category for a quiz than it used to be. Intuitive and quick. One of the much needed improvements we’ve had recently.

I missed noting that the change is in the New Editor format.

Great to hear. It has been straightforward for editors since I have been an editor, but I remember the old days when it was more than a little tedious!

Thanks for that info, zorba_skank. We editors wouldn't notice the change but now we know we can steer players in the right direction.
