Subject: Time Cut Off

During Daylight savings time the cutoffs were 2AM and 2PM for the Eastern Time zone in Canada ( Ontario/Quebec)

When Standard time returned the cutoffs are now 1Am and 1 PM which is causing me problems and lots of points.
In Toronto 1PM is in the middle of the Lunch Period. If you go out every day you either stay up until 1AM to start a new day (which is hard if you are an early riser )
Normally 6 to 8 is to get ready out of the house and commuting time From 8 to 1 is work break time So you either game at work ( frowned on ) or cram as much as you can between 12 and 1 . I can't do enough posting so am losing a lot of points trying to beat the 1pm shutdown This is a probably a North American problem but it would be nice if the cutoffs stay at a consistent 2AM and 2 PM

The FunTrivia 'day' is based on Central Standard Time, and never changes... even with Daylight Savings in the Spring.

FT is a global site, so it is by far easiest (and fairest) for the time to remain consistent. To alter the time would cause more confusion, since not all countries change on the same date, and some never change, at all. It's up to the individual to know when midnight/noon is for FT. (There is a clock on the left side of the home page, under 'Today & News'.)

Also, since we are a Global site, only those of us in the Eastern time zone (I'm in NY) are affected by your scenario. There are those who are having breakfast, having dinner, or would prefer to sleep, while you and I are finishing up lunch.

Yes, it's an adjustment twice a year. (I need to make sure I get my beloved Global Challenge in, reminding myself that... no... I don't have another hour.) It is not possible to cater to everyone's personal preferences, and I imagine there are those who welcome this time of year :-)
