Subject: Would this break the time rule?

Currently writing a quiz, and one of the questions is about which year a person won an Olympic medal in.

There are two problems:

- In the II, I want to mention that they won the Dakar Rally five times.
- There's a chance that they might win another medal.

(BTW, the person in question is Nasser Al-Attiyah)

It would; there's no way of knowing. You'd need to be very careful in framing the question and info to avoid letting on the possibility of future wins.

Changed the Dakar Rally thing to "best known for his successes in the Dakar Rally".

The Olympics thing is still in question of how I should phrase it...

Btw, the quiz is about racing drivers and some of the things they did outside racing.

I'm no expert but it could be OK to ask which year they won a particular medal in without saying anything about whether they've won other medals

I mean, if you're asking for the year they won the medal, provided the other answers aren't future years, you should be covered. You'd just need to make sure there's no inference that they could win one down the line.

In 2023, Racer McRacerson won their fifth Dakar Rally...

"in such and such a year, Sports Figure broke the previous record for...." is useful when you want to talk about records.

I also never allow reference to things that haven't happened yet, even if they are very certain to happen. 2020 taught us that even the Olympics don't always happen on schedule.
