Answer: Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei was born on February 15th, 1564, in Pisa, Italy. Among his many accomplishments was the pendulum clock, which he invented after observing a swinging lamp in Pisa Cathedral. Answer: W. C. Fields

Stories about legendary Hollywood actors are often exaggerated, but the tales of W. C. Fields' epic thirst seem to be mostly true. According to his valet, Fields' favorite breakfast was a 10 ounce tumbler of I. W. Harper whiskey. He was notorious for showing up for filming in an intoxicated state, and for concealing a flask or thermos filled with alcohol on the sets of movies.

His intemperate habits did not prevent him from starring in over 30 films, and living the relatively ripe old age of 66.

Answer: He died on the mountain

Robert Edwin Hall (14 January 1961-11 May 1996) was a mountaineer and tour guide from New Zealand, and one of the best by all accounts. He had summited Everest five time previously. However, he made a major mistake allowing one of his clients to go for the summit late in the afternoon instead of turning back.

When a storm came in suddenly, they both were trapped near the top. Despite desperate pleas from base camp to leave the dying client and start back down, Hall refused to leave him. He was able to survive through the night, but eventually froze to death, probably the next day. Eight people died in the blizzard, making it the most lethal single expedition up to that point.
