Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart wrote the theme song for 'The Monkees', simply titled 'Theme from the Monkees'. The song mirrors the style of the Beatles, and sets up the premise of the show: four musicians hoping to make a success of their rock band in the 1960s. This led to a number of fun, silly, zany adventures for the group. The song fosters their image of positive young men who dismiss negativity, all the while chasing girls and having trouble paying their rent.
