'Mario Kart World' was released in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. As with other games in the 'Mario Kart' franchise players play as one of a number of characters from the 'Mario' series and compete in races either in four wheeled vehicles called karts or two wheeled bikes. 'Mario Kart World' differs from previous games in the series by introducing an open-world element which sees players drive around to the different tracks akin to how players do in the 'Forza Horizon' games.
As well as the racing mode called 'Grand Prix' players can compete against each other in 'Battle Mode'. This consists of two different options, 'Balloon Battle' where each player has a number of balloons attached to their kart which other players must pop by crashing into them or using power ups, and 'Coin Runners' where players compete to collect the most coins. New for 'Mario Kart World' is the 'Knockout Tour' which features a longer race for twenty-four competitors with racers eliminated at checkpoints along the way.
All the correct answers for this quiz are new courses which were developed specifically for the game. There are thirty tracks in 'Mario Kart World' although Peach Stadium and Crown City have two different layouts making thirty-two different tracks for players to race on. Alongside the new tracks there are returning tracks from previous 'Mario Kart' games which have been upgraded to work with the format of 'Mario Kart World'. These include tracks, such as Mario Circuit which is from the original 'Super Mario Kart' game released for the SNES in 1992.
