Fun Trivia
The King of Navarre and three friends vow to give up female company for three years of study and fasting. Then they meet up with the Princess of France and her ladies in waiting. Love's labor is not actually lost, just forced to wait until the end of a year of mourning required by the death of the princess's father at the end of the play.

In Act V, Scene 1, Costard uses the word honorificabilitudinitatibus, which describes a state of being able to gain honors. It is the longest word in all of Shakespeare's work, and is said to be the longest English word (if you are prepared to consider a medieval Latin word as English) that is composed of strictly alternating consonants and vowels.
