3. What was the first song performed in the film by Julie Andrews?

From Quiz Victor Victoria

Answer: Cherry Ripe

The first song performed by Julie Andrews in the film was 'Cherry Ripe', although many people think that it was 'Le Jazz Hot', because that was the first song she performed in her role as Victor. As Toddy left the Cafe, where he had had his breakfast, and began walking to Chez Lui, you could start to hear the song. Victoria was first seen when Toddy entered Chez Lui and she was auditioning (singing 'Cherry Ripe') to be a performer there. The song 'Cherry Ripe' was chosen to be sung here because it was completely inappropriate for a nightclub; it was a song that Julie Andrews had sung as a child soprano.

From Quiz Victor Victoria

Answer: Paris

Blake Edwards had originally wanted to film the film in Paris. However, he felt that there were too many TV aerials, which would not suit the film because it was set in 1934, before TV was commercially available. It was actually filmed on two adjoining sound stages; which turned out to have advantages, as it allowed the use of snow. If they had filmed in Paris, they could not have been assured snow because they couldn't have controlled the weather.
