Anastacia noticed a bump on her stomach when she was thirteen years old. The doctors thought it might be a tumor, so they wanted to operate immediately. When they cut her open, however, they found out it was Crohn's disease. Anastacia is one of the few people with Crohn's disease that doesn't have a lot of side-effects. She doesn't have an enlarged face, she is not losing weight, and her hair is not falling out. She only has to be careful about what she eats because she does have a low resistance. In early 2004, Anastacia was also diagnosed with breast cancer, but because of early detection, Anastacia came out on top and has beaten the disease back into remission.
