"Joy" was written, in part, about Trey's sister who had died. The other part of "Joy" is about co-author Tom Marshall's daughters. It is part of the album "Joy", released in 2009. The album was the first album since the hiatus, and the song "Joy" also celebrates the relationship between the band and their fans.
