He picked two people that were not one of his followers and he said it was because they were strong players. Eric also offered everyone the same deal, that if he did not nominate them then he would be safe either when they won Head of Household, or if they won it the following week. This was not shown clearly on the show but it was shown clearly on the live feeds for those that have them.
