Alex's pistol has a blade that can extend from the barrel and allow him to use it as a melee weapon once he's run out of shots.

The world of LastEXILE, Prestel, is contained within an hourglass-shaped space station. Anatore is in one of the bulbs, and Dusis is in the other. Since one must travel through the Great Stream to get from Anatore to Dusis, and the Great Stream is above no matter where one stands, then Dusis must also be above Anatore (and vice versa). Further supporting evidence: in episode thirteen ("Isolated Pawn") several Dusis migration capsules take off from Dusis, travel in a straight line, and then crash head-first into Anatore. In the final episode, an upside-down Anatore can be seen suspended above Dusis once the Grand Stream has been removed.

Answer: He would've been killed had he gotten it

Duke Nouls had a henchmen pressing a gun against Alex's head. That was enough convincing for him to let it slide. However, had Alex known that Delphine was the one who got the "Door to EXILE", he probably would've attacked her... gun or no gun. The closing price for the item was 50 million Claudia, but Delphine paid for it with a single ring that cost much less. Duke Nouls tried to assassinate Alex after the auction, but in one quick action, Alex took out five of the guards and got away.

They are, in order of appearence, Lavi, Alistia, Tatiana, Dio, Alvis. Claus was taken to the Guild city in a vanship with Alex in the navigator's seat in episode twenty-one, but since Claus wasn't actually piloting the vanship, it doesn't count. Claus also flies as navi to Tatiana on several occasions.

Alex doesn't follow either the Guild or the Empire. His interest is only in destroying Maestro Delphine. Yes, the Empress is his first mate, but he's told her where he stands. A good quote to prove this fact is in the second episode in the middle of a battle between the Empire and the Guild. When the Sylvana enters the fray (despite protests from the Empire), Alex commands his crew to fire and Sophia replies: "On which fleet?". This implies that Alex has attacked the Empire before.

Answer: The Empire wanted to keep an eye on Alex

Known in the Empire as "unstable" and "a ticking time bomb under command of a deadly ship", they believed that a combination like his was very dangerous. They sent Sophia to the Sylvana to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't make any rash actions that would endanger the Empire. Yes, Sophia did eventually fall in love with Alex, but that wasn't the reason she was sent on board.

The Sylvana was sunk only once: against the Urbanus. Still, with the Sylvana's awesome power and Alex's ruthlessness, it is veritably undefeatable. Another nickname used in conjunction with the Sylvana is "The Annihilator", but that's Alex's nickname, not the Sylvana's.

We only ever see Justina in one episode - episode fourteen, which is named "Etude Lavi". Yuris is Alex's fiancee, who was lost in the Grand Stream during the same mission which killed Claus and Lavi's fathers. Sylvana is the name of the ship which plays a large part in the series, and Holly is the name of Duke Maddosein's daughter.

When Alex's vanship was attacked by Maestro Delphine, his leg was permanently injured. Though it's not injured to a degree where he can't walk, he always walks with a slight limp. The cane helps ease the pressure on his injured leg. In addition, the cane doubles as a high-powered rifle that can even destroy a Guild star-ship.

The captain of the Goliath thought that Alex would be a pushover. He was shocked and terrified when the Sylvana pulled out of the dock in answer to his challenge. To try and sink the Sylvana, he fired on them before the duel began... attacking the rear of the ship where it was unguarded. Unfortunately, the Sylvana had a secret weapon that obliterated the Goliath.

Marius is the prime minister of Anatore, and the father of Yuris. Emperor Anatore is Sophia's father, but Sophia and Yuris look quite alike. After the death of Yuris, Marius took care of Sophia as his own daughter. Duke Nouls is the father of Captain Nouls of the Goliath, who was killed when his ship was sunk in a duel with the Sylvana. Ressius Dagobel is the chief engineer of the Sylvana.

Answer: Lavie wanted to give her a stuffed goat

Claus and Lavie were given the 7-star mission to take Alvis to the Sylvana and place her under the care of Alex Rowe. When they were confronted by a Guild ship, Alex rescued them with his cane-rifle and then had Godwyn take Alvis to the Sylvana. They chased after the Sylvana because they wanted to give Alvis the stuffed goat that she liked... and they wanted to know what was going to happen to Al. However, it is true that Alex didn't pay them in full... he paid them only half of their amount because he was forced to rescue them. When Claus and Lavie tried to reach the Sylvana, Alex signaled them to go away... when they didn't comply, he had the Sylvana open fire.

Sophia appoints Tatiana, but she never takes her position, preferring instead to remain a vanship pilot. The mechanics joke that Moran expected to be made first officer because he looks dejected. Campbell is the third in command, and the navigator (he's the guy with the beard on the bridge - why he's not made the 2IC is beyond me).

This is the Dagobel Mysterium - the third to come to Alex. It is posessed by Ressius Dagobel, the chief engineer of the Sylvana, and the last surviving member of the Dagobel Family, after they were exterminated by Maestro Delphine. Delphine forces Alex to say this Mysterium to Alvis in episode twenty-two, "Queen Delphine", and Claus says it in the final episode.

"Thou art the path of the great winds - The Grand Stream."

This is the Bashianus Mysterium, and Alex was sure never to learn it, in case he was captured by Maestro Delphine (and he was, too). This Mysterium was posessed by Marius Bashianus, the prime minister of Anatore, and the last surviving member of the Bashianus Family. The Mysterium was sent to Alex in writing by carrier pigeon, and he passed it on to Sophia without reading it. Claus says this to Alvis in the final episode.

This is the Hamilton Mysterium, and the first which Alex learns. It is posessed by Graf Hamilton. Alex pays for it with a fist-sized Claudia crystal. Delphine forces Alex to tell it to Alvis in episode twenty-two, and Claus says it in the final episode.
