When FOX dropped the show it was upsetting for fans, particularly because Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger (due to the fact that the writers had no idea the series was being cancelled). Netflix bought out the rights and resurrected the series in 2018, resulting in higher ratings by critics and fans.

Lucifer Morningstar made a brief appearance in "The Flash" in the episode "Crisis on Infinite Earths". He gives a "devil's calling card" to Constantine as a pass to get some of the superhero team members into Purgatory for a rescue operation. Tom Ellis plays the character in this show as well.

Shortly after they first met, Lucifer realised that he recognised Chloe Decker from when she had acted as a teenager in a film named 'Hot Tub High School'. Since the plot of that film had involved her appearing topless while climbing out of a hot tub, mentions of it (particularly by Lucifer) generally caused Chloe considerable annoyance and embarrassment. It turned out that Chloe was the daughter of a B-movie sci-fi actress and a LAPD cop. Her decision to quit acting - and follow her father's career choice instead - came when he was shot and killed on duty shortly after her notorious 'Hot Tub High School' appearance.

This premise of the show is based on events in "The Sandman," in which Lucifer decides to turn over a new leaf and abandon Hell after having a change of heart. The TV show's interpretation is that he has become bored with ruling Hell and wants new adventures. Right up until the end of the series, Lucifer showed no desire to reconcile with his father. Although hellmouths appear in medieval religious art, and figured prominently in "Buffy," they do not appear in "Lucifer."

The Lux nightclub is actually a compilation of three different locations in Los Angeles: The entrance - El Capitan Theater The interior (before they built its own set) - Emerson Theater The exterior (frequently shown in aerial shots) - Sunset Tower Hotel, formerly operated under the names of St Jame's Club and the Argyll. On 'Lucifer', each angel apparently had a gift or power that they could exert over the human population and Lucifer's was the power to draw out people's secret desires. This proved very handy in interrogations for obtaining the truth from murder suspects, but turned out to be utterly ineffective on his crime-fighting partner, Chloe Decker. Lucifer's elder brother Amenadiel had the power to control time, which meant that he could pop in, annoy Lucifer with his demands for his brother to return to hell and disappear again, all without the human characters being any the wiser. Lucifer also occasionally took advantage of his brother's ability by calling him (via prayer) and making use of the "free time" when he arrived. In an early example from the show's second episode, he encouraged a suspect to shoot a man then used Amenadiel's arrival to pluck the bullet safely out of the air. The stunt also added to Chloe's confusion over Lucifer, as from her perspective Lucifer had managed to instantaneously move from one place to another.

Lucifer's wings become an important plot point in several episodes. For example, during season 1, they are stolen from a shipping container where he has stored them, while at the end of season 2 they unexpectedly grow back.

The moniker "Detective Douche" initially seemed to be an apt one for Detective Dan Espinoza. The first time viewers met the character he was trying to persuade Chloe Decker to treat Delilah's shooting as a cut-and-dried case that didn't need to be investigated that carefully. Over the course of the series he was also regularly seen prioritising his job over his daughter's needs, was revealed to have shot one of his colleagues during the "Palmetto Street" incident (albeit to save Chloe), and stole a gun from the evidence lockup that was later used to frame Lucifer for murder. Despite this long list of transgressions, Dan redeemed himself somewhat in the season finale when he admitted his guilt and handed himself in for the theft of evidence in order to clear Lucifer's name.

Lucifer never tried to conceal his status as the devil from Chloe or any of his other co-workers - but for obvious reasons, none of them ever believed him when he talked about it. However, after several seemingly impossible incidents (such as surviving a hail of bullets and throwing a man through a glass wall) and a fleeting glimpse of Lucifer's "devil face" in a reflection, Chloe came close enough to believing him that when Lucifer asked her to shoot him to prove his invulnerability, she did just that! Unfortunately for Lucifer, his angelic ability to be impervious to bullets failed at just the wrong moment and the bullet penetrated his upper leg. Needless to say, this left Chloe more convinced than ever that her partner was not really the actual devil!

Lucifer is normally invulnerable to things that would harm a mortal, such as gunfire. However, in episode 3 of season 1, Lucifer encourages Chloe to shoot him in the leg, which she reluctantly does. He is then quite shocked when the bullet wounds him, as this has never happened before. He eventually figures out that becomes vulnerable only when he is around Chloe.

In "Lucifer" he plays an angel who is at first an antagonist and later a protagonist who chooses to stay living on earth and supports his brother Lucifer. D.L. Hughey is a comedian. B.J. Britt played Antoine in the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." series. D.B Cooper is the alias of a man who hijacked an airplane in 1971 and then jumped out of it while in flight with a stash of cash.

Lucifer was not at all interested in the murder of an apparently "boring" warehouse security guard until he received the information that it was the shipping container that housed his severed angel wings that had been stolen. Then he became incredibly interested in both catching the killer and finding his missing wings! When questioned by his partner Chloe on what was in the container (and essentially why it was stored in a warehouse linked to dubious or criminal activity) he attempted to evade answering, but finally made the unexpected admission that it held his collection of... Russian dolls. When the container was finally found, to Chloe's obvious surprise it did contain a chest full of Russian dolls. What she didn't see afterwards was Lucifer opening up a hidden section at the back of the container to discover that the wings that should have been hidden there were gone. It later transpired that the theft of Lucifer's angel wings had been orchestrated by Amenadiel as part of one of his many schemes to convince his brother to return to hell.

Lucifer sometimes uses this to his advantage by creating situations where Amenadiel is forced to intervene. Later in the series, Amenadiel begins losing his angelic powers, which he considers a test from God. Lucifer, not Amenadiel, has the ability to show people a frightening "devil face," although he temporarily loses this ability midway through the series. Most women, and even many men, do seem to find Lucifer irresistible, although this seems to be due mainly to his good looks and charm.

The series one episode of 'Lucifer' entitled 'A Priest Walks Into a Bar' started with just that - a priest by the name of Father Frank visiting Lucifer at Lux to ask for one of his famous favours. Lucifer turned him down flat due to his apparent distrust and dislike of all priests in general because of their allegiance to God, the father who cast Lucifer down into hell. However, Lucifer and Chloe ended up helping Frank after all when a youth counsellor associated with Father Frank's protégé was murdered and Father Frank's life was threatened. In order to hide Frank from the drug dealer who was out to kill him, Lucifer took him back to Lux and soon discovered that Frank shared his love of music and piano-playing skills. The pair then developed an unlikely friendship, which was abruptly ended when Frank was shot and killed while trying to protect his young protégé.

Lucifer enjoys working with the police, as it gives him a chance to ensure that evildoers are punished, something he finds quite satisfying. Additionally, he sees his rebellion against God as a good thing, because he feels that God's plan robs people of free will. Lucifer does seduce quite a lot of people during the series, but this seems to be more of a feature of his lifestyle than a special mission.

His choice for the job was Detective Malcolm Graham - the detective who had been shot during the 'Palmetto Street incident' and left in a coma. When the doctors treating Malcolm turned off his life support equipment, he died and his soul went to hell for a brief period before Amenadiel used his powers to bring him back to life. Amenadiel then tasked Malcolm with murdering Lucifer and Malcolm - who was both a corrupt cop and desperate to avoid spending any more time in hell - was happy to oblige. The incorrect options were all characters who appeared in later series of 'Lucifer'.

At the end of the pilot episode, Lucifer offers Linda a deal in which she can have as much "naked cuddle time" as she desires in return for discussing his personal problems, and she eagerly agrees. Later in the series she decides to stop sleeping with Lucifer but continues to counsel him. A recurring theme in their relationship is that she tries to offer him good advice, which he nearly always spins in a completely unintended and self-centered way.

Dennis Haysbert generally plays stoic or authoritarian characters, possibly due to his physical stature and resonant voice. People tend to forget he was in the comedy movie "Major League". In "Lucifer", we get to see again how funny, personable and charming he can be. He has a pretty good baritone singing voice as well! Haysbert's first appearance in an Allstate commercial was in 2003. The incorrect answers were other actors in the cast of "24".

One of Lucifer's key characteristics is his playboy lifestyle and his ability to attract most women (and men) into his bed. Dr. Linda Martin was the therapist of the celebrity singer Delilah and therefore ended up being interviewed by Lucifer and Chloe during their investigation into Delilah's murder in the series' first episode. Lucifer used his ability to draw out desires and Linda's attraction to him to get the confidential information she had on Delilah's lover and promised her sex in return. This initial arrangement then morphed into a longer-term one with her acting as his therapist instead. Later in the series, Linda's guilt over the unethical nature of their arrangement leads her to request that he start paying her with money like all of her other clients and he is happy to agree (and can easily afford it as he is also extremely wealthy).

Lucifer's mother is God's ex-wife, with whom he created the universe. Later they had a falling out and he cast her into Hell. At the end of Season 2, she escapes into another dimension with Lucifer's help, and the real Charlotte Richards gets a second chance at life.

Michael is Lucifer's twin brother and he has been scheming for eons up in Heaven (while Lucifer was banished to Hell) for an opportunity to replace God. Lucifer wants the position too, but for different reasons, and his side is outnumbered at the onset of the battle. Michael, of course, is also played by Tom Ellis (with an American accent as well as different facial expressions and posture). The battle was originally supposed to be filmed at the Mount Wilson Observatory, but due to the pandemic the L.A. Memorial Coliseum became available. This added to the "epic" atmosphere of the event. The total number of angels and demons was reduced and if you watch the episode you may notice that in the battle all the actors are spaced a reasonably safe distance from each other.

Answer: A demon used an angel wing feather to heal him

The killer in question was Detective Malcolm Graham, who was following Amenadiel's orders to kill Lucifer but also fancied taking out the angel who had effectively been blackmailing him. Amenadiel, Lucifer, Lucifer's demon bodyguard Mazikeen (or Maze) and Chloe had all tracked Malcolm down to a particular warehouse, but it turned into a trap for Amenadiel when Malcolm stabbed him with a hell-forged blade - one of the few things able to kill or injure an angel. Maze then gave up the pursuit of Malcolm in order to carry the injured Amenadiel back to Lux and use a feather she had saved from Lucifer's angel wings to heal him. Malcolm then escaped from Lucifer and Chloe and kidnapped Chloe's daughter in order to get hold of the cash he needed to flee the country. At the exchange point, Lucifer tried to talk Malcolm down but was shot in the stomach because Chloe's presence still rendered him vulnerable to earthly weapons. Lucifer's dying words were a plea to his father that he would do anything for him if he protected Chloe in return; God's response was to show Lucifer that a prisoner had escaped hell (with the implication that they needed to be returned) and bring him back to life just in time to save Chloe himself.
