Taylor Ashby (the bomber) told Charlie that when he answered a question right, he'd throw away a phone. But, when he answered a question wrong, he'd detonate a bomb. No pressure or anything. They disabled the cell provider, but Taylor manually detonated a bomb, resulting in his placement in ICU and "death sentence".
