From Quiz "Those Tempestuous TV Tykes And Teens"

Children Trivia Questions

1. In the early seasons, what were the names of Roseanne and Dan Conner's children on "Roseanne"?

From Quiz
Mom, I'm On TV!

Answer: Darlene, Becky, and D.J.

Darlene was very into art and for a while she was goth. Becky was a good student, preppy and an obedient child until she ran away with her boyfriend and eloped. D.J. was a weird kid who liked to eat cardboard and hair. In later seasons, he was very interested in becoming a director.

2. In the second season of their show, this TV couple announced that they were "expecting" their first child. Who were the parents of a character named Little Ricky?

From Quiz Out Popped A Baby!

Answer: Lucy and Ricky Ricardo

Apparently, it was frowned upon at the time to even show a pregnant woman on TV. So, though Lucille Ball was pregnant with her daughter when she filmed the pilot episode of "I Love Lucy", it was not until her second full term pregnancy (with Desi, Jr.) that she was seen that way on screen. They were only allowed to use the term "expecting" back then (1952). The older version of Little Ricky was played by actor Keith Thibodeaux.

3. Which young actor played the son of Herman and Lily Munster on the 1964 comedy series "The Munsters"?

From Quiz Those Tempestuous TV Tykes And Teens

Answer: Butch Patrick

From a field of 500 acting hopefuls, 10 year old Butch Patrick was selected for the role of Herman and Lily Munster's only child, Edward "Eddie" Wolfgang Munster for the 1964 comedy series "The Munsters". Eddie was a typical all American boy who resembled a werewolf, always dressed in his black Fauntleroy suit with short pants, and had a hairstyle with a very prominent "widow's peak". The Munsters were a typical blue collar working family who felt they were like any other family, despite their appearances. Family patriarch Herman (Fred Gywnne) resembled a seven foot tall Frankenstein figure, his wife Lily (Yvonne De Carlo) looked like a vampire vamp, and Lily's father, referred to as Grandpa (Al Lewis) was a vampire bat who would appear as Count Dracula. Rounding out the Munster clan was Lily's Niece, Marilyn, who the family felt was cursed with bad looks. She appeared as an attractive blonde teenage girl who resembled a young Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was played in the first 13 episodes by Beverley Owens, who was replaced by Pat Priest for the remainder of the series. As Universal Studios produced the series and owned the rights to the classic monster movies "Dracula" (1931), "Frankenstein" (1931), and "Werewolf of London" (1935), the Munster characters were able to resemble the classic monsters. "The Munsters" aired for two seasons (1964-1966) with 70 half hour episodes, all filmed in black and white. The series was canceled after the second season due to continued low ratings, but found its niche in the syndicated television market, where "The Munsters" became one of the most popular rerun series. One attraction to viewers were the classic hot-rod type vehicles used on the show. The Munster family car was a souped-up, custom-made extended hot rod known as the "Munster Koach". Grandpa drove an even faster hot rod, shaped as a coffin, called "DRAG-U-LA". Butch Patrick, birth name Patrick Alan Lilly, was born on August 2, 1953 in Los Angeles, California.

4. What sitcom added cousin Oliver to the show?

From Quiz New Kids on the Block

Answer: The Brady Bunch

Oliver, played by Robbie Rist, was arguably the most annoying part of "The Brady Bunch"; more so than the polyester clothes, astroturfed back yard and the lame songs. Cousin Oliver joined the show in the fifth and final season to replace the cuteness of Cindy and Bobby Brady. It didn't work, apparently.

5. When Little Ricky was born on "I Love Lucy," Ricky greeted his new son while wearing what interesting outfit?

From Quiz TV's Maternity Ward

Answer: "Voodoo doctor" costume

Ricky came straight from the club, where they were doing a voodoo-themed show. Poor little Ricky probably wanted to go straight back to the womb after seeing his dad!

6. Butch, Hal and Prudence:

From Quiz Kids on Television Shows

Answer: Nanny and the Professor

This show used to be on Friday nights along with 'The Brady Bunch', 'The Partridge Family' and 'The Courtship of Eddie's Father'. It starred Juliette Mills who is now on 'Passions'.

7. What just a second! Vampires CANNOT have babies! They are so very dead after all. But, on the TV series "Angel", such a mind blowing miracle did occur. What did Angel name his son, who was born after his mother staked herself to dust?

From Quiz Out Popped A Baby!

Answer: Connor

No, there was no baby Snoop Dogg on "Angel". But, baby Connor was born in an alley, during a rainstorm, after his vampire mother staked herself to save his life. Darla and Angel conceived Connor in mid season two, but he was born in season three. The pregnancy was pre-arranged by a higher being in order to construct yet another mystical pregnancy, so that it could basically give birth to itself. Connor was kidnapped as a baby and raised in a hell dimension called Quor'Toth, but arrived back in Los Angeles several episodes later, 17 years older. Vincent Kartheiser played Connor. He went on to star as Pete Campbell on the hit series "Mad Men".

Zal's acting resume also includes three Young Artist Award wins for 1983, "Best Young Actress Guest in a Series" for "Hart to Hart" (1979), "Best Motion Picture Actress in a Feature Film" in 1984,for her role in "Table of Five" (1983), and for "Exceptional Young Actress Starring in a Television Special or Movie of the Week" in 1987 for "CBS School break Special (1984). 11. Who was the middle daughter of Eric and Annie Camden on "7th Heaven"?

From Quiz Mom, I'm On TV!

Answer: Lucy

Lucy was a very sensitive person. She cried a lot and was very empathetic. In later seasons, she married a police officer and had a daughter. She also became a minister. Mary was Lucy's older sister and Ruthie was the youngest Camden daughter.

12. On which TV series did the main couple NOT have any babies after their show premiered?

From Quiz Out Popped A Baby!

Answer: Cliff and Clair Huxtable - "The Cosby Show"

Dan and Roseanne added to their family with the birth of Jerry Garcia Conner. Paul and Jamie had baby Mabel towards the end of their show. Hal and Lois had their fifth child, Jamie, whose gender was not revealed until several episodes after his birth. But, the Huxtables never had anymore babies after the debut of their show. Yes, they did mysteriously acquire another child after the pilot aired, but she was not a baby. Sondra became the eldest of five after they were seen to only have four children initially. They also lived in a tiny apartment in the pilot, and were magically transported into an impressive house inside a brownstone building afterward. Sondra and her husband Elvin had twin babies, possibly to increase ratings, while in the series. And, Denise married a man named Martin Kendall, who already had a three year old daughter named Olivia. Olivia was played adorably by tiny actress Raven-Symoné, who went on to become a big star independently of her time on "The Cosby Show".

13. Which real-life siblings starred for the four season run of the 1994 teen orientated comedy drama series "Sweet Valley High"?

From Quiz Those Tempestuous TV Tykes And Teens

Answer: Brittany and Cynthia Daniel

Identical twin sisters Brittany and Cynthia Daniel played Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield on the series. Stories for the show revolved around the Wakefield twins. Their school buddies and their high school experiences in their quaint community of Sweet Valley, California. While the two beautiful blonde sisters appeared to be identical in appearance, they were completely different in other ways. Elizabeth was a warm, fun-loving, friendly student who was always willing to accept responsibilities and duties, while her sister, Jessica, was mischievous, sometimes mean spirited, snobbish, and thought nothing of using false sincerity to get what she needed, often at the expense of others. "Sweet Valley High" ran 88 episodes during its four season run from 1994 through 1997. The series and characters were based on the "Sweet Vally High" novel series, created by Francine Pascal, who supervised the group of ghost writers who produced 152 novels, published both in hardback and paper over a 20 year period. Brittany Ann and Cynthia Lynn Daniel were born on March 7, 1976, in Gainesville, Florida.

14. As if two daughters and a son wasn't enough, along came baby number four - Andrew. What show am I referring to?

From Quiz New Kids on the Block

Answer: Family Ties

Brian Bonsall joined the cast of "Family Ties" in its fifth season as a cute replacement for actress Tina Yothers who played Jennifer, the younger daughter of the Keaton family. Brian didn't completely kill the show, as it lasted another three seasons but he was annoying. Brian won one award at each of the 1988, 1989 and 1990 Young Artist Awards. In 1992, Brian played Mikey in the movie of the same name as a deranged little psycho. At least in the movie, that was intentional.

15. A series of mishaps led up to the birth of Ritchie on "The Dick Van Dyke Show." What kind of vehicle transported Laura and Rob to the hospital?

From Quiz TV's Maternity Ward

Answer: Laundry truck

16. Laurie, Keith and Danny:

17. Who played Jules' son on "Cougar Town"?

From Quiz Mom, I'm On TV!

18. In the second season of "Beverly Hills, 90210", the writers decided to incorporate a later in life pregnancy, which went on to spawn massive life forward. Which character's mother gave birth to baby Erin?

From Quiz Out Popped A Baby!

Answer: Kelly's

Jackie Taylor fell in love and married Mel Silver, who was the father of David Silver. Jackie became pregnant with baby Erin, whose arrival spawned quite a storyline. Erin's birth prompted Kelly to cancel her plans to go to Paris with Donna. Brenda's parents basically bribed her to take Kelly's place, as they wanted her away from Dylan. While she was gone, Brenda basically lost Dylan to Kelly, though the story line took a painfully long while to play out. Cut to many years later, and the reboot series "90210" starred actress Jessica Stroup as Silver, Erin Silver to be exact. Jackie passed away on that series, leaving Erin with only sister Kelly and her friends for support. It was never very clear why David and Mel were not a more active part in her life. We did learn, from Tori Spelling's guest appearance, that David was living in Japan.

19. Which acting minor did not star as one of the Bradford children during the five season run of the 1977 series, "Eight Is Enough"?

From Quiz Those Tempestuous TV Tykes And Teens

Answer: Kristy McNichol as Buddy

Kristy McNichol played the role of Letitia "Buddy" Lawrence on the 1976 ABC series "Family" and was not part of the "Eight is Enough" cast. "Eight Is Enough" (1977) starred Dick Van Patten and Diane Hyland as parents Tom and Joan Bradford. After the first season, Joan's character was replaced by Abby (Betty Buckley), who became Tom's second wife. The eight Bradford children (from oldest to youngest) were David (Grant Goodeve), Mary (Lani O'Grady) Joanie (Laurie Walters), Susan (Susan Richardson, Nancy (Diane Kay), Elizabeth (Connie Needham), Tommy (Willie Aames), and Nicholas (Adam Rich). The comedy drama family series "Eight Is Enough" ran for five seasons (1977-1981) with 111 episodes. The comedy drama family series, "Family" ran for five seasons (1976-1980) with 86 episodes.

20. This sitcom added two kids which helped to sink the show - Chrissy and Luke. Which 80s sitcom were they on?

From Quiz New Kids on the Block

Answer: Growing Pains

Leonardo di Caprio found fame on this dying show playing Luke Brower, a sixteen year old homeless student of Mike Seaver, to help boost the show's ratings. Fortunately for Luke, he was rescued by his father and taken away from the Seaver homestead before the show ended 22 episodes after his arrival. Leo did eventually sink - in "The Titanic", in James Cameron's blockbuster motion picture. The youngest Seaver child, Chrissy, originally co-played by twins Kelsey and Kirsten Dohring wasn't born until the fourth season and suddenly "grew up" from being a toddler to a five year old (then played by Ashley Johnson) between the fifth and sixth seasons. The rapid aging of kids on television shows really annoys me.

21. Georgette went into labor at Mary's apartment, eventually having the baby in Mary's bedroom. What did they name the baby?

From Quiz TV's Maternity Ward

Answer: Mary Lou

The baby arrives before the ambulance can get to Mary's apartment. Lou and Mary do the best they can, and Ted and Georgette show their appreciation by naming the little girl after them both.

22. Jason, Aimee and Erin:

From Quiz Kids on Television Shows

Answer: The Waltons

If I had written John-Boy or Jim-Bob it would have been too easy! One of my favorite all-time shows. Aimee is not a Waltons sibling, she is the adopted daughter of Ike and Cora-Beth Godsey.

23. Which character on "Sex and the City" had a child first?

From Quiz Mom, I'm On TV!

Answer: Miranda

Miranda was a lawyer. She became pregnant after a one night stand with her ex-boyfriend, who she slept with because she felt sorry for him because he had cancer.

24. Airing mostly in the 1990s, on which paranormal themed TV series did one of the characters become pregnant despite being told she was infertile after cancer treatments?

From Quiz Out Popped A Baby!

Answer: The X-Files

Dana Scully decided to undergo cancer treatments after she discovered a tumor in her sinus cavity. She was told in season seven she would be unable to conceive a child. But, as the show wore on, I am sure plot lines were harder to come by, and thus a very mysterious pregnancy was revealed in late season seven. She gave birth to a son, whom she named William. When she felt unable to protect him properly from the dangers associated with her work, she gave him up for adoption into presumed anonymity. Fans were left to believe Fox Mulder was the child's biological father, and later he referred to William as "our son" in a feature length film, "X-Files I Want to Believe". "Teen Wolf" aired in the 2000s on MTV, "Buffy" aired from 1997-2003 and no one was ever pregnant during that series' run, and "True Blood" began airing in the 2000s as well. "The X-Files" aired from 1993-2002.

25. For the entire NBC network run of the series "Baywatch", who played the part of Hobie, the son of lifeguard lieutenant Mitch Buchannon?

From Quiz Those Tempestuous TV Tykes And Teens

Answer: Brandon Call

Brandon Call played the role of Hobie Buchannon during the only season (22 episodes during 1989-1990) that the series aired on network television. The series was canceled by NBC following its first season. Still seeing a future for the premise of the show, series star David Hasselhoff, along with the show's creator and executive producer, Gregory J Bonann, found new investors and supporters and produced a first run syndication package of "Baywatch", which ran for 10 years (1991-2001). In the syndicated version of the show, 11 year old actor Jeremy Jackson was cast in the role of Hobie Buchannon, playing the part for the duration of the series. "Baywatch" aired stories and adventures involving a group of Southern California lifeguards, protecting the beaches, and almost always clad in swimwear. The series help to propel actress Pamela Anderson into superstar-sex symbol status. At its high point, "Baywatch" was said to be the most viewed television show in the world, running in 144 countries in 15 different languages. "Baywatch" also had the dubious distinction of being the longest running series (11 years) not to win a Primetime Emmy in any category.

26. When Lori Beth gave birth on "Happy Days," Fonzie was right by her side, filling in for Ritchie. But where was Ritchie?

From Quiz TV's Maternity Ward

Answer: Greenland

Ritchie and Ralph Malph joined the Army and were sent to Greenland. Fonzie steps in for his best friend at the wedding (held over the telephone) and then later in the delivery room. Fonzie is nervous but holds it together for Lori Beth, but when Ritchie calls at the end of the episode, the Fonz faints while trying to describe the blessed event.

27. D.J., Stephanie and Michelle:

From Quiz Kids on Television Shows

Answer: Full House

'How Rude' was an 80's catch phrase for a while.

28. Who was the young actress who starred in the title role of the 1981 sitcom series "Punky Brewster"?

From Quiz Those Tempestuous TV Tykes And Teens

Answer: Soleil Moon Frye

Soleil Moon Frye started her acting career in 1982, and was featured in several small roles in movies-made-for-TV before landing the title role as Penelope "Punky" Brewster in 1984. In the series, Punky, along with her dog Brandon, was abandoned by her mother and left to fend for herself. The street-wise and precocious Punky found shelter in an empty apartment building where she met Henry Warnimont (George Gaynes), an elderly widower, who befriended her, became her de facto guardian and subsequently legally adopted her. Henry adjusted to his new situation with the aid of helpful neighbors and social workers. The series highlighted the change in lifestyle for the two main characters, Punky from a wayward young child into a regular child in a loving environment and friends and Henry, from a bitter, cranky widower to a loving parent. The series often focused on both the serious and lighter sides of the transition of both characters. "Punky Brewster" aired for four seasons (1984-1988) with 88 episodes. Soleil Moon Frye was nominated for and won the 1986 Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress Starring in a Television Series". Soleil Moon Frye was born August 6, 1976 in Glendora, California.

29. Along comes Olivia, the step-niece to another grown-up, washed-up young actress whose real initials are KKP. What was that program called?

From Quiz New Kids on the Block

Answer: The Cosby Show

"The Cosby Show" is show is widely accredited for the re-birth of the sitcom. KKP stands for Keshia Knight-Pulliam who played Rudy, the youngest of the Huxtable children on NBC's "The Cosby Show". Little Olivia came along as a four-year-old replacement of Rudy's faded cuteness when rebel Denise Huxtable returned from a hiatus in Africa. Olivia joined at the start of the sixth season and left for Singapore at the end of the eighth and final season.

30. The doctor who delivered Phoebe's triplets on "Friends" was obsessed with Fonzie from "Happy Days." What significance did he find in the date that Phoebe was giving birth?

From Quiz TV's Maternity Ward
