Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Trivia Questions

1. An unusual sight for the "Metroid" series, Samus can actually meet and speak with other humans in person: specifically, the Galactic Federation. Who is their military leader?

From Quiz
"Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: Admiral Dane

Most of the games in the "Metroid" series before "Corruption" had a noticeable lack of friendly characters in comparison to other adventure games. Though many of them won't say much to Samus, she can finally speak with other humans, all members of the Galactic Federation. Admiral Dane leads the Galactic Federation force in this game.

2. Samus joins forces early on in the game with three other bounty hunters. All four members of this group have their own unique powers and abilities. Which hunter commands ice and can ride around through the air on an ice path?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: Rundas

Rundas, like the other hunters, starts the game as a normal bounty hunter on the side of the Galactic Federation. Unfortunately, when all four bounty hunters are corrupted by the substance known as Phazon, the corruption takes over their minds - all of them except the main character, Samus.

3. Who saves you from falling into the generator's core in Norion?

From Quiz Much to do and see in "Metroid Prime 3"

Answer: Rundas

Rundas is one of three hunters called upon by the Galactic Federation to help stop the corruption. Rundas has the ability to create ice and slide across it.

4. Aside from large Federation ships, Samus mainly traverses four different planets throughout the game. Which one features the location called SkyTown?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: Elysia

Elysia is a planet with hostile clouds in its atmosphere which make living and even landing a ship difficult. As a result, the structures you explore are all floating high above the ground. For transportation between islands, Samus uses both morph ball cannons and "ziplines", the latter being a new element which lets Samus slide along a track with the grapple beam.

5. Which upgrade do you get for defeating Ghor?

From Quiz Much to do and see in "Metroid Prime 3"

Answer: Plasma Beam

During this fight you must freeze the puddles of gel on the ground so when Ghor runs over them he spins out. That is when you must attack him. Further into the fight, you must go into Morph Ball mode and roll under him and drop a bomb to get a chance to attack him.

6. What do you need to power various things on the GFS Valhalla?

From Quiz Much to do and see in "Metroid Prime 3"

Answer: Energy Cells & Energy Cell

You can find energy cells spread across the galaxy. Certain energy cells must be obtained to progress, while others are optional. If you want to get every upgrade you can however, you must collect them all.

7. Samus starts off with three of her four visors, having to acquire only one during the game. (Technically the Ship visor is with her at the beginning, it's just locked). So which visor does Samus finally acquire in the Pirate Homeworld?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: X-Ray Visor

The X-Ray visor from the first "Metroid Prime" makes a return in "Corruption", despite its changed look. In this game, the X-Ray visor makes a perfect counterpart with the Nova Beam for solving many puzzles. They can also be paired together to kill Pirate Commandos a lot faster by shooting through their Phazite armour to hit a weak spot.

8. Using default control settings, a player can use the minus button (-) on the remote to bring up the visor select screen. With which other button on the Wii Remote can this be switched?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: The plus button (+)

The control scheme in "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" is simple and quick to use, but not at all rigid. The A button can be switched with the B button and the plus button can be switched with the minus button for the convenience of the player. Turning sensitivity can also be set to one of three levels.

9. Certain accomplishments in the game will give you some sort of bonus. What do you get if you acquire 75% of all item pickups?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: A special ending (after beating the game)

Unlike previous "Metroid" games, "Corruption" actually tells the player on-screen what bonuses they receive for various accomplishments. Something as simple as using the Boost Ball on a particular group of Tinbots will show up on the screen as a Friend Voucher with the title "Bowling for Bots". And of course, special endings are no longer a mystery. This game was also the first Metroid to feature an in-game method by which the player could find data revealing the location of every item pickup in the game.

10. What is the last planet you visit?

From Quiz Much to do and see in "Metroid Prime 3"

Answer: Phaaze

While on Phaaze, you are in a constant state of Hypermode. You must reach the end and defeat Dark Samus before you become completely corrupted.

11. The final boss. If you scan your targets, the game reveals that Dark Samus is bonded to the Planet Phaaze, as well as what other entity that you end up fighting as part of the final challenge?

From Quiz "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" - Wii

Answer: An Aurora Unit

Earlier in the game, you find out that Space Pirates attacked a Galactic Federation training ship called the Valhalla. It turns out their target was the Aurora Unit on board. The AU gets fully corrupted by Phazon, and by the end of the game when Samus reaches it, is completely absorbed and linked to both the planet Phaaze and Dark Samus. The final boss comes in three parts, and two of them are the Aurora Unit.
