1. How many bonus areas are there (not including sub-areas)?

Five of the six areas are opened by passing bills in the Dark Assembly after meeting certain criteria. "Prinny Land" and the "Human World" don't give automatic rewards after completing them, unless you count unlocking the Prinny God as a reward, but that's only because you unlock a monster after fighting it the first time.

2. A cutscene involving a castle plays, and a girl named Etna awakens a prince. For how long was the prince asleep?

As the prince wakes up, he hears some bad news from Etna. His father died two years ago. After some thought, the prince realizes he was out for two whole years! While exploring the castle, you will find it empty, and a golem will claim that the majority of vassals left the castle.
