Expelliarmus should be used in a duel to disarm one's opponent. The first mention of this spell is in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". While at the dueling club, Professor Snape casts Expelliarmus on Professor Lockhart. Harry Potter then uses this spell many times throughout the series.

Confundo, a spell that confuses the thing cast on, is used on people. In "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", Hermione casts Confundo on Cormac McLaggen. This is during Quidditch tryouts, because Hermione wants Ron to get the position as keeper, and not McLaggen. In the movies, the incantation is Confundus, while it should be Confundo according to the books.

Nox is the opposite of Lumos. It is used to put out lights which are made by Lumos. Harry uses this spell in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". He was trying to get to the upstairs part of the Shrieking Shack without being noticed, and put out the light he had on his wand.

In "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", Harry uses Aguamenti. Dumbledore had to drink the potion in order to get the locket, and was thirsty afterwards. Harry tried to fill the container that once held the potion with water using Aguamenti, but he could not get the water out. He then got water from the surrounding water of the island.

Engorgio is a spell that will enlarge the object cast on. In "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", Engorgio is mentioned. Hermione suspects that Hagrid has been using it to enlarge the school pumpkins. This comes in handy when they are trying to save Buckbeak and Sirius.

Reducto is a spell that breaks things. It is used in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" by Ginny Weasley. There is a training dummy rolling around the room, and Ginny uses Reducto on. This causes the dummy to be reduced to ashes, as can sometimes happen.

Rennervate is the counter-curse of stupefy. It will revive anyone who has been stunned. In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", Dumbledore uses it to revive Viktor Krum. Krum was stunned while watching Barty Crouch, Sr.

Reducio is the counter-curse for Engorgio. It is used to shrink things back to their normal size, or, if they are at their normal to size, to make them smaller. In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", Hermione's teeth are enlarged to abnormal size by Draco Malfoy. Madam Pomfrey uses Reducio to shrink them back to regular size.
