1. Who is Mrs Macready, in relation to the Professor?

Answer: His housekeeper

She takes the public on tours of the Professor's large, historical house. Mrs Macready is not fond of children, and tells them to keep out of the way when she is conducting one of these tours.

He is very strange looking to them. Edmund keeps having to pretend he was blowing his nose in an attempt to hide the laughter.
Lucy is a little afraid of him.
