Ron made his five saves fair and square. However Cormac McLaggen was an arrogant player with a bad temper, and he had some help in missing a save. After listening to him during the trials for the other positions, Hermione decided that he would not be a team player and Confunded him.

This resulted in his missing the last goal because he went the wrong way, which left the field clear for Ron who played a perfect set. Later, when McLaggen substituted Ron for one game, we learn that Hermione was correct in her assessment. Gryffindor lost that match, after McLaggen's actions left Harry with a cracked skull.

Answer: Ginny and Dean snogging (kissing)

Ron was already in a foul mood after a bad Quidditch practice, during which Ron accidentally punched one of his teammates in the mouth. Harry was trying to cheer Ron up, when they turned a corner and saw Ginny and Dean locked in an embrace. Ron immediately flew into protective, big brother mode, which earned him a lecture from Ginny. Meanwhile Harry had his own, interesting reaction to the sight.

Answer: pretend to put some of the Felix Felicis potion into Ron's drink

Harry won the potion, which Hermione called liquid luck, from Professor Slughorn for making the best Draught for Living Death in the class (with a little help from the Half-Blood Prince). He pretended to pour it into Ron's glass of pumpkin juice when he knew Hermione was looking.

She made the expected fuss, so that Ron believed that he had drunk the potion, and played accordingly. It was a real boost to Ron's self-confidence when he learned that he had performed that well without any help.

Answer: Lavender Brown

When Ron got angry with Ginny for snogging Dean, Ginny said that everyone had done a little snogging at some point in time, except for Ron. In making her point, she remarked that Hermione had snogged with Viktor Krum when he had been there for the Tri Wizard tournament.

This inspired Ron to find someone to snog with, which he did regularly and publicly. This really seemed to upset Hermione.

Answer: invite Cormac McLaggen to be her date for Slughorn's Christmas party

Hermione's announcement did seem to make Ron jealous, at least long enough to interrupt one of snogging sessions with Lavender. However McLaggens aggressive personality, combined with the fact that he didn't know that Hermione was only using him to make Ron jealous, made for a difficult evening for Hermione.

Answer: a necklace that said 'My Sweetheart'

Ron was terribly appalled to think that Lavender could actually expect him to wear a thing like that in public. When Harry questioned whether Ron had ever said he wanted a necklace, Ron admitted that he and Lavender didn't exactly talk much. Ron was very curious to learn whether or not Hermione was really dating McLaggen.

Answer: some Chocolate Cauldrons

Earlier in the year Romilda Vane had given the cauldrons to Harry, in the hopes that he would eat them (she had filled them with a love potion). Thinking them part of his birthday gifts, Ron ate a few of them and began declaring his undying love for Romilda, even striking Harry when he acted as if Ron was joking. Harry had to take Ron to Slughorn for an antidote.

Answer: He drank poisoned mead.

After Ron took the antidote for the love potion, Professor Slughorn offered him a drink from a bottle of mead to toast his birthday. Unfortunately the mead, which Slughorn had meant to give to Dumbledore, was poisoned. Ron swallowed the drink in the middle of the toast, and immediately began showing symptoms of poisoning.

This prevented Harry and Slughorn from also drinking their mead. Harry had the presence of mind to push a bezoar down Ron's throat, thereby saving Ron's life. Poor Ron had to spend his coming of age birthday in the hospital wing.

Ron was able to apparate, but since he left half an eyebrow behind, the examiner failed him. Hermione passed, and Harry was not allowed to take the test since he was not yet 17.
Hermione reminds us regularly that no one can apparate within Hogwarts' walls, but the house elves seem to manage it all the time.

Answer: "We'll be there, Harry."

Clearly surprised by this response, Harry did not initially understand what Ron meant. He then tried to dissuade his friends from undertaking this journey with him, but Hermione pointed out that they had had their chance to turn back. Ron then reminded Harry that the journey would have to wait until after Bill and Fleur's wedding.
