Find me out? Sure, I am the proud city of Columbus. But many years ago I was but a small village called Franklinton. But in a way I kept part of my name for Columbus is the county seat of Franklin county.

Yes, I am known as Atlanta but way back when I was called Terminus! Funny name huh? That was because the railroad line ended in my town. I was the end of the railroad line. But now I am the "gateway to the South"

Yes, I am Tampa located near beautiful Tampa Bay. I have many sisters and they kept their original names, for example Fort Myers, and Fort Pierce and Fort Lauderdale. I was known as Fort Brooke and like my sisters we were fort sites at first and grew into nice big cities. Be sure to come and visit us!

Found me out again did you? Yes I am Des Moines and happy to be here. I received my current name because of French explorers. They called my river "the river of the Monk" and we Americans changed it to Des Moines. Before, I was known as Fort Raccoon. I sort of liked it but most people did not.
