Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where does Paul hide Becky's underwear the morning after the bachelor party?

Answer: In the toilet tank

The morning after his bachelor party, we see Paul being woken up by the telephone. It's his mother-in-law asking to speak to Karen, who was on her way over to Paul's apartment. Paul tells Becky she has to leave right away, but she can't find her underwear. Once she has gone, Paul finds them under the cushion on the sofa, and, in a panic as Becky is at the door, decides to hide them in the toilet tank.

A tactic that backfires later in the movie when Karen notices that the toilet is leaking, and discovers the underwear hidden in the toilet tank.
2. Unsure as to exactly what happened after the bachelor party, Paul goes to Jim's apartment to try to get some answers. Jim has none, but tells Paul not to worry, as Karen is never going to find out, and Paul is never going to see "the tiki girl" again. However, in the very next scene, Paul DOES see Becky. Where?

Answer: At a freeway toll booth

We find out during the movie that Becky isn't exactly the best at holding a job down. Having not been such a great tiki girl, she is now working as a toll booth attendant, much to the surprise of Paul. Having caused a bit of a queue whilst talking to Becky, he pays her the 50c toll, and starts to drive off, however Becky presses the wrong button a couple of times causing the barrier to drop down onto Paul's car, denting the hood.
3. Paul's predicament gets worse when he discovers which of the following?

Answer: Becky is Karen's cousin.

The two families are having a get together at Karen's parents' house, and Karen says that she wants to introduce Paul to her Aunt Budge. They walk to the kitchen, and Karen says "There's Budge, talking to my cousin Becky". When Paul sees that it is the same tiki girl, Becky, whom he woke up next to the other morning, he makes a quick exit before Becky sees him.
4. Becky's ex-boyfriend Ray has what profession?

Answer: Cop

We first meet Ray at the police station, where he is roughing up a guy who we find out has simply stolen a doughnut. It seems that Karen might have been right when she advised Paul that Becky's ex-boyfriend is "a psycho". We then see a fellow police officer hand Ray a package, which appears to contain a number of photographs. On flicking through them Ray says "That's a little disheartening". Later in the movie we find out that Ray is clearly upset at Becky having split up with him, and he had someone tail her.

The photos he was given are of Becky and Paul, so Ray finds Paul and roughs him up too, saying that "You made the biggest mistake of your life when you messed with my girl, cupcake".
5. Paul is chatting about Becky with Jim in the launderette when he suddenly realises he is late for what?

Answer: Dance class

As Paul arrives at dance class, Karen is clearly annoyed at him, declaring "This is our last lesson, and you are 45 minutes late". As the couple take to the floor to join the other students, we can see that they are far from accomplished dancers, and Paul definitely has two left feet.
6. The title of the movie is said as a line by which of the following characters?

Answer: Spend Mart Clerk

Having discovered Becky's underwear in Paul's toilet tank, Karen demands to know if Paul had had a girl in his apartment. Paul says no, and makes up a convoluted story that he had bought the underwear (which Karen discovers are used) for Karen from an underwear bin in Spend Mart. Karen calls Spend Mart to ask for their thoughts on having dirty women's underwear in their underwear bins.

The Spend Mart clerk clicks on to what is happening and replies "These are my thoughts. I'm sick of it. It's some college kids playing a prank.

They've been putting dirty underwear in our bins". When questioned about "underwear bins?" by some customer who are in the store, the clerk simply says "It's a guy thing".
7. What song do Karen and Pete reminisce about together during the rehearsal dinner?

Answer: Islands in the Stream

During the rehearsal dinner, Pete retells the story of how he was responsible for Paul and Karen getting together, as it was Pete (who was married at the time) that Karen spoke to first when the brothers were on a night out. He continues by asking Karen and Paul if they remember the song that was playing the night they met. Paul doesn't, but Karen certainly does, suggesting that Karen may not, in fact, being marrying the right brother.
8. Just before the wedding, Paul is in the bathroom talking to Pete about how messed up the past six days have been, listing off the various incidents he has faced. Once Pete has left, one of the bathroom stalls opens. Who walks out of it?

Answer: Ken

Ken, who is both Karen's father and Paul's boss, has clearly heard everything Paul has just said to his brother. However, rather than raging at the man who is just about to marry his daughter, Ken says to Paul "I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to overlook what I just heard. I believe that you love my daughter. And in spite of everything you're going to make her happy. What's done is done".
9. Despite reminding Paul numerous times about booking the string quartet for the wedding, Paul forgets to. However his best man Jim has "got it covered". What musical offering did Jim organise for Karen to walk down the aisle to?

Answer: The band from the bachelor party

The band, who are the real life threesome The Buddy Scott Trio, start to play "Born Free" as Karen and her father are about to make their entrance, much to the shock of Karen's mother and father. Karen calls for Howard, the dance teacher, who gets Karen's father to "find the beat" before somewhat awkwardly walking a clearly very angry Karen down the aisle.
10. Do Karen and Paul get married?

Answer: No

Due to an unfortunate case of food poisoning (presumably from the rehearsal dinner), the minister who was going to marry Karen and Paul was unavailable, so Minister Ferris stepped in to perform ministerial duties, much to Paul's dismay. Minister Ferris has justifiable doubts as to Paul's suitability as a husband to Karen, and so gives the congregation an extended amount of time to advise if anyone knows of any reason Karen and Paul should not get married. Eventually it is Paul himself who holds up his hand and says "I do".

He follows this up with a speech about the past week, and how he is going down a road he doesn't like. Despite Karen being "perfect in so many ways", deep down they are not right for each other. This spurs Pete into action, and he starts singing "Islands in the Stream", declares his love for Karen, and says "Paul, would you mind if I asked Karen to marry me?". Paul agrees, and Pete and Karen run out of the church together, with a plan to get married at a later date.
