John Donne is the poet who made that statement. Will's knowledge is a little sketchy in some areas obviously! Unfortunately, he passed this misinformation on to Marcus!

2. Will's brilliant idea to meet single mums was to attend SPAT meetings. What do the letters in SPAT stand for?

Answer: Single Parents Alone Together

His vision of these meetings' attendees didn't quite match up to the real thing.

3. The first time Marcus comes to see Will, Will won't let him come in. Before leaving, Marcus says something that frightens Will. What is it?

Answer: "I'll be back"

Just that simple, "I'll be back". Will had never met anyone so determined, so perservering. He was no match for Marcus!

Fiona had a pretty bad depression problem. Marcus thought that she might be happy if she had a boyfriend. This idea also fit into his "two is not enough, you need backup" idea of life.

Will also bought him "cool new trainers" but not at Christmas. Marcus was such a sweet kid, he was truly happy about all his gifts.

Will didn't intend to lie about Marcus when he met Rachel, but when she thought he had a son she became more interested in him. He was afraid to correct her because he knew there was nothing else interesting about himself.

Answer: laughing

At one point, Will noted that he was "killing them softly with his song" - funny line! The kids applaud a little when Marcus finishes, but Will keeps singing. They do boo a little, but at the end they burst into laughter. Why did Will keep on playing? My guess is that he wanted to completely take the heat off Marcus by becoming the focus of ridicule.
