7. Who shot the Nomad when the group were discussing what to do with him?

Answer: Elliott

The survivors of the crash and the heat, bickered over whether to give the dehydrated Nomad water which they lacked. Elliott wanted to end the discussion by solving the problem and shot the Nomad dead.

9. Elliott told everyone that he was an aeroplane designer and that he knew how to rebuild the plane, but what was his actual profession?

Answer: Toy aeroplane designer

Elliott told the survivors that the only way out of the desert was to rebuild the plane, and then he revealed to them that he was an aeroplane designer. They all believed that he meant proper "people carrying" planes. Towards the end they found out that he designed toy aeroplanes.
10. Which of these is NOT a tagline?

Answer: Starting again is the only way out

'Out of the ashes, hope will rise' refers to the mythological phoenix who rose from the ashes. The ashes in this film refer to the desert, and the phoenix in this film is the plane.

'If they stand together, they stand a chance'. All the survivors had to help to rebuild the plane, because if one person refused to help then they would have run out of water causing them to dehydrate.

'The only way out is up'. The survivors were 200 miles away from the nearest town and walking across the desert would have killed them. If they couldn't walk to survive then they had to go up and fly out of the desert.
