Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many years did the main character "rage against the constant sea"?

Answer: 15

It's the first word in the first song.
"15 years I raged against the constant sea,
the speed of light."
2. Which type of "demon" was the main character plagued with after going back in time to save his wife?

Answer: Pterodactyl

Unfortunately, something went wrong with his time machine. He ended up in pre-historic times in the age of the dinosaurs!
"And now above the pits of tar, in a cave I hide.
That massive, screaming thing with wings of reaper's cloth.
It's standing just outside.
I must get to my machine, I will bring you back to life!
Fix your ruined lungs, I'll undo what time has done!
I crashed before the birth of Christ
Pterodactyls swarming."
3. In the second song "Save Our City", what does the mayor of the city do?

Answer: Shoots himself

Not knowing what to do for his people as the city is being attacked by zombies, the Mayor has a breakdown. He makes one last quick prayer and...
"And with a blast like the sun
his lips are unwrapped from the barrel of his gun."
4. When the citizens of the city are being rallied to stand up for themselves, what are they told to use as weapons?

Answer: Anything

One of the most inspirational speeches ever sung! The boy, who just witnessed the Mayor kill himself, goes to the window and shouts to everyone below:
"There's a time to pray and there's a time to fight!
Anything can be a weapon if you're holding it right!
Defend what is yours, they will not take our souls!
It's time now to rise and fight!"
5. Finish the lyrics! "Oh baby, baby, how I lost my mind, Time is quite the killer when you're left behind. The airbag held you 'til the engine slept, At home your pillow cooled while the _______ wept"

Answer: Willows

His wife died in a horrific car accident. The lyrics use many descriptions using a car items when the main character thinks about the accident.

"Like motor oil down my throat,
I couldn't speak I dropped the phone.
The burning flares, the steam, your hair, bits of glass,
They sparkled everywhere."
6. By this point, the main character is thinking about the time he spent with his wife on a beach. What were they looking for?

Answer: Fossils

"Remember in the summer when I held your hand,
on the southern shore, finding fossils in the sand.
Oh, baby maybe someday you will find me
on that beach beside you again."

Sounds sweet and poetic, but he was wondering if she'd find his fossilized body in the future! Creepy...
7. Unable to control his machine once more, the main character arrived so far forward in time, he's now witnessing the battle between the humans and the zombies during the apocalypse. How does he describe the ocean?

Answer: A scab

"The oceans' blood that's turned to slime and gotten hard.
All the fish and whales are corpses on the scab."

Very descriptive and morbid imagery.
8. The main character ends up saving the day! As a reward, what was he given?

Answer: That morning in May

"I couldn't save her, I know she will die
But please, if I could only tell her goodbye
All I want is just one more day
that morning in May..."

Very emotional scene. He finally realizes that he cannot keep her from her fate. Just seeing her once more the morning she died is enough.
9. When he reaches his destination, he sees his wife again, he lays beside her in bed. She awakens and asks, "Back so soon?". He smiles because...?

Answer: "I never left at all"

"You turn to me alive, awake, and blinking, baby.
'Back so soon?' you ask, but I smile 'cause I never left at all."

Even after 15 years and time traveling back and forth in time, he was never able to move past that day.
10. "You check the clock, it's time to go. You grab your keys and you're out the door. I step outside and you're waving goodbye, It's all happening again like before!" She is about to leave and get into the same accident. What does he do?

Answer: Gets in the passanger seat

"As you're starting the car and I'm tearing inside,
I knock on your window, you stop just in time.
Around to the other side
I say, 'Baby, I thought I'd come along for the ride.'

I've been waiting for so long (Time slows, and I take your hand).
To touch you and sleep in your eyes (I hold you as we lose control).
Together our hearts beating so hard.
Hold on, baby, we're almost home."

Very sad ending. He goes with her and holds her as the accident occurs and takes both their lives.
