1. Who was Italy's last World Champion of the 20th century?

Answer: Alberto Ascari

He was champion in 1952 and 1953 and was also Ferrari's first ever World Champion.
2. How old was Juan Manuel Fangio when he made his Formula One Debut?

Answer: 38

To be more accurate he was 38 years and 325 days old at the 1950 British Grand Prix where the entire grid was making its debut!
3. Who was the only driver in the 60's (in the 20th century actually) to win a World Championship in a car from his own design?

Answer: Jack Brabham

He did this in 1966 and he also took the constructors' championship as well that year.
4. Which World Champion won the last race of the 1960's?

Answer: Denny Hulme

He was the World Champion of 1967. It was the Mexican Grand Prix on the 19th October 1969 when the last race of the sixties occurred. He sadly died of a heart attack competing in a Touring car race in Australia in 1992.
5. Which future World Champion made his Formula One debut at the 1978 German Grand Prix?

Answer: Nelson Piquet

In that race he qualified 21st but retired on lap 32 with engine troubles. The great Brazilian went on to win 23 races and 3 World Championships in 1981, 1983 & 1987.
6. 1970 was a unusual season in Formula One since the World Champion of that year was killed 4 races before the end of the season, who was he?

Answer: Jochen Rindt

He was the first driver to do this. He was killed in practice for the Italian Grand Prix. After the German Grand Prix he had scored 45 points (his final total). At the end of the season he finished 5 points ahead of Jacky Ickx who had scored 22 points in the final four races to make a run at the title.
7. How many seasons in total did Alain Prost spend with McLaren in the 1980's?

Answer: 7

He was there in 1980, 1984 - 1989 and won three of his four championships with McLaren.

Answer: False

He took 26 out of 32 (13 in each of '88 & '89) which is 81.25%, that's is still pretty darn good for any driver. He was on the front row for every race in 1989.
9. At the 1991 Portuguese Grand Prix, Nigel Mansell potentially lost the race and was eventually disqualified after an illegal pit stop. Which tyre mechanic raised his hand too early?

Answer: right rear

This mechanic raised his arm to say that the change was completed but his fellow hadn't tightened the nut and hence had not raised his hand yet, so the car moved off with a loose wheel nut and had to reverse back which was illegal. Mansell was subsequently disqualified for this manoeuvre.
10. How many races did Michael Schumacher win for Benetton in the 1990's?

Answer: 19

He won 1 in '92, 1 in '93, 8 in '94 & 9 in '95.
