Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Season 1: There were an even amount of female chefs as there were male chefs.

Answer: False

There were only five females and seven males. The females were Mary-Ellen, Elsie, Wendy, Carolann, and Jessica. The males were Michael, Ralph, Jeff, Dewberry, Andrew, Jimmy and Chris.
2. In season 6, how far was Tennille able to make it in the competition?

Answer: Final 4, Eliminated in 4th place

Tennille was the chef who nearly got kicked out of "Hell's Kitchen" during the 6th dinner service because she kept messing up on the garnish (vegetable section). She continued to improve until she reached her max potential, where she was eliminated in 4th place. Well done to her for turning it around, yes?
3. Flashback to 2006, Season 2: This one is a little tough. Which of these facts about Heather West is false?

Answer: She was nominated for elimination.

Heather was the only chef that season to be spared the guillotine. She never once stepped up to the "chopping block" to plead her case to stay in Hell's Kitchen. Her signature dish was deemed not bad, but was criticized for being hard to swallow. As for the individual challenges, Keith won the first one and Virginia won every challenge thereafter.
4. "Shut it down" and "Switch it off" are 2 of Chef Ramsay's most famous service ending lines.

Answer: True

Yes, these are Gordon's signature saying. He says them when the chefs are doing so bad that he makes them stop cooking then and there. Pretty insane, considering he expects perfection, but doesn't complete half of the services in each season.
5. Which season was the dreaded 'first service completion' promise delivered in?

Answer: Season 7

It was season 7 where Ramsay promised that the chefs would complete the very first dinner service. The chefs all had looks of dismay on their faces once they'd heard this.
6. Season 3: Chef Ramsay kicked someone out of the kitchen and out of the competition for the very first time in the series. Which chef was it?

Answer: Josh

It was the first service of the Final Five. Josh kept messing up the appetizer station, and Chef reached his boiling point, prompting him to kick Josh out, to say it in a nice way.
7. Back to season 7: How many chefs finished off the first dinner service, as chef had promised?

Answer: Nine

The seven chefs kicked out were Fran, Benjamin, Stacey, Salvatore, Mikey, Maria and Jamie. They were thrown out of the kitchen for various reasons, including mistaking crab for lobster, nasty cooking habits, and inabilities to cook.
8. Let's go back a year from season 7: Who was the first chef kicked off the show in season 6?

Answer: Louie

Technically, Louie was kicked off first. He was thrown out during the dinner service, and Robert from season 5 took his place. A lot of people overlook this because Melinda was kicked off at the end of the episode, thinking that she was the first booted off.
9. Season 5: Both of the finalists of this season, Danny and Paula, were never nominated or considered for elimination?

Answer: False

While most think they were not, they were both actually considered for elimination one time a piece. Paula was nominated by default when Andrea had won the challenge guaranteeing her a spot in the Final Three, nominating both Ben and Paula. Danny was considered for nomination in the episode of the Final Three along with Andrea, since Paula was the outright best that night.
10. According to Chef Ramsay, who is the most gracious chef to ever enter "Hell's Kitchen"?

Answer: Petrozza

Chef Ramsay said this to him when he nominated himself over everyone else on the blue team during season 4. He said that the other guys worked too hard, and he couldn't put anyone in that position, so he nominated himself. Chef Ramsay eliminated Ben that episode, and then told Petrozza he was a gentleman.
11. In seasons 2 and 4, who were the last males standing in their respective seasons?

Answer: Keith and Petrozza

The only other two actual chefs to compete on seasons 2 and 4 were Garrett and Bobby, and they both finished in 5th place, being 2nd place for males.
12. Seasons 1, 2, 6, and 7 all contained finalists of the same gender. (Male-male or female-female).

Answer: False

Season 7 contained Holli and Jay, making that statement false. Seasons 1 and 6 had both male finalists (Ralph vs. Michael; Kevin vs. Dave). Season 2 was female finalists (Heather vs. Virginia).
13. Which season awarded 2 prizes? Prizes DO NOT include the salary of $250,000, or a share in the profits, but instead the titles that the winning chef was awarded.

Answer: Season 8

"Hell's Kitchen", in season 8, offered the Head Chef position at the L.A. Market Restaurant, and also offered the speaker of Rosemount Winery.
14. By popular demand, 2 seasons aired virtually back to back in the USA! Which 2 seasons were these?

Answer: 7 & 8

Season 7 ended in September, and season 8 aired at the end of the month, on September 22nd. Talk about popular demand!
15. Which finalist almost got into a fight with their returned team of chefs?

Answer: Russell

Russell, in season 8, became the only chef in "HK" history to come close to fighting with a returned chef in the finale, possibly being part of the reason why he lost the competition to Nona.
