The Warlock was trying to kill Kit/Katrina when he was being sent back to memories of Piper and Leo. The reason why he wanted to kill Kit was because if you take out Familiars you leave their witches defenseless, vulnerable. By killing Kit it would allow the Warlock to have an opportunity to take out the Charmed Ones and change history.
