Answer: Defeat Zhang Yan then do not go past the defense base he is in for a certain period of time.

When playing as Lu Bu or Diao Chan, Diao Chan will first say to defeat Zhang Yan, then: "Let's hold off and regroup with our hosts." This means: do not advance beyond the defense base Zhang Yan was in for those who didn't know.

2. Who must you defeat to prevent the fire attack at Yi Ling (Shu Forces)?

Answer: Zhu Ran/Lu Xun

Some may not have known but in fact defeating Lu Xun could prevent the fire attack too. Most never do, as Lu Xun is stronger and deeper in the enemy camp.

3. What DOES happen out of these at the Battle of Liang Province, Allied Forces?

Answer: Zhang Ji and Hu Zhen appear.

There was something that could trip you up in there. Taking a certain checkpoint prevents Dong Zhuo's reinforcements, but doesn't prompt yours to appear (take certain bases to trigger those). That was a trap some may have fallen into.

Answer: You cannot stop them.

The good thing about this is that Wei gets these indestructible defenses when you are playing as them too. This helps to stall the Wu advance, and they assist you in defeating officers.

5. At the Battle of He Fei, Wu Forces, which of these officers appear as reinforcements for the Wei Army?

Answer: Yu Jin

The correct answer is Yu Jin, but Cao Cao is there by default, unlike when you are playing as the Wei Forces. There are eight reinforcement units that appear in this battle, so watch out.

6. At the Battle of Cheng Du, what occurs when Pang Tong falls to Zhang Ren's ambush?

Answer: Liu Bei and Zhang Ren begin to advance.

Losing Pang Tong is not much of a disadvantage, since Liu Bei wll take his place anyway. However, Zhang Ren will advance too, and he has high morale, so the downside is that Liu Bei will be in danger.

7. At the Battle of Guan Du, Cao Cao's Forces, which requirements must be fulfilled before Yuan Shao opens Wu Chao?

Answer: Yan Liang must be defeated.

Unlike in "Dynasty Warriors 4", Bai Ma and Yan Jin must in fact stay intact for a certain time after Yan Liang has been defeated. Then Yuan Shao will open Wu Chao, and until you defeat Chunyu Qiong, Yuan Shao's Forces morale will skyrocket.

8. Defeating Gan Ning at the Battle of He Fei, Wei Forces, triggers what?

Answer: A Wei Forces' Morale increase.

Gan Ning is a very difficult foe as he is in Hyper Mode, so the morale increase is fairly well deserved. The music doesn't change to "Swept Away" or the Wei Army charge until Cao Ren arrives as reinforcements.

Answer: "Superior"

Just for reference, "Superior" is the "Dynasty Warriors 5" "Winning" music. "Swept Away" is the "Skirmish" music, "Overdrive" is the "Dominant" music, and "The Bringer of War" the Battle of Hu Lao Gate music.

Answer: Hao Zhao calls in a fire arrow unit.

Hao Zhao will bring in a fire arrow unit, but it's pretty useless, as Hao Zhao's morale will be non-existent by this point. You will have set several siege ramps up by now, so there's no challenge.
