Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where are the transmitter codes on Deck 5 (Recreation) found?

Answer: In the art terminals

The reason that the code is hidden there is because that way the Many won't find it. To quote the log, "I don't think the worms'll spot this. I don't figure they got much of an interest in the great masters."
2. Which of these statements does a protocol droid not say?

Answer: Ah. Excellent choice, if I do say so myself.

There is a similar statement, but instead of saying excellent, the protocol droid says "marvellous". "May I interest you in any of our personal care products?" is said when the protocol droid spots you; "Aaawww, I've driven a client away. I'll likely be downgraded" when you run away and "If my service was unsatisfactory, please note my ID number" when you shoot it.
3. Which of these is not a result of worms attaching themselves to the crew?

Answer: Cyborg Midwives

The cyborg midwives are instead created through surgical and cybernetic means, with an implant at the base of the spine providing most control. Meanwhile, the Hybrids are the basic form when the worms initially attach themselves to a human host; they then evolve up to the Rumbler, before finally becoming a Psi Reaver.
4. Which of these is not a type of turret in "System Shock 2"?

Answer: Plasma

The turrets in the game can be hacked once your hacking skill is high enough, allowing you to use them against your enemies. The Slug Throwers are the easiest to fight; the lasers deal much more damage and are quicker shots, and the rocket turrets blow up large areas where you are.
5. Iridium appears in the Chemical Storage all all the decks in the game except one. Which deck is it?

Answer: Command

Iridium is useful, since it is needed to research both the Arachnid organs and the Psi Booster organs. The Iridium itself is provided as a powder; your research systems use the raw chemical in order to research the material without you needing to actively study it.
6. What is the most powerful melee weapon in the game?

Answer: Crystal Shard

The Crystal Shard, unfortunately, is the only real useful weapon in the Exotic weapon category. You cannot actually wield the Lead Pipe at all; however, the Hybrids do wield it. Because of the additional requirements in terms of buying new skills, many players prefer to use the Laser Rapier, even though it is a weaker weapon.
7. What is the first passcode in the game?

Answer: 45100

This is a reference back to the original "System Shock", whose first passcode was also 451. This in turn was a reference back to Ray Bradbury, who inspired the number.
8. What is the normal cost of a soda can from any of the replicators in "System Shock 2"?

Answer: 3 nanites

Querying the soda can will bring up some of its (ingame) history, including how the first major Corporation War was the result of conflict between two soda makers. The soda can itself is fairly useless, although it can be drunk to restore one point of health.
9. How did SHODAN escape Citadel Station from the first "System Shock"?

Answer: One of her processing components was ejected along with a garden grove pod

SHODAN still escapes again at the end of "System Shock 2", taking over the body of Rebecca, an escaped human. The garden grove that was ejected also contained SHODAN's biological experiments; this is where the Many originate from.
10. Which of these areas is not available on the ingame Map Data?

Answer: Deck 4 : Operations Sector A

This is a small area where you meet Polito face to face, or so you are led to believe. In fact, you meet SHODAN, who then explains that she pretended to be Polito in order to build trust, and that your cybernetic rig is a result of her doing.
