Some say that heavy metal is devil music. Poppycock! Woops, okay, I forgot about this one...… Seven deadly sins Seven ways to win Seven holy paths to hell And your trip begins Seven downward slopes Seven bloodied hopes Seven are your burning fires Seven your desires...…. I am he, the bornless one The fallen angel watching YOU :-( Babylon, the scarlet whore I'll infiltrate your gratitude Don't you dare to save your son Kill him now and save the young ones Be the mother of a birth strangled babe Be the devil's own - Lucifer's my name Moonchild - hear the mandrake scream Moonchild - open the seventh seal I count the heads of those unborn The accursed ones, I'll find them all If you die by your own hand As a suicide you shall be damned And if you try to save your soul I will torment you - you shall not grow old With every second and passing breath You'll be so alone your soul will bleed to death Moonchild - hear the mandrake scream Moonchild - open the seventh seal Moonchild - you'll be mine soon child Moonchild - take my hand tonight The twins they are exhausted Seven is this night Gemini is rising As the red lips kiss to bite Seven angels, seven demons Battle for this soul When Gabriel lies sleeping This child was born to die One more dies, one more lives One baby cries, one mother grieves For all the sins you will commit You'll beg forgiveness and none I'll give A web of fear shall be your coat To clothe you in the night A lucky escape for now young man But I'll see you damned in endless night Moonchild - Iron Maiden Don't let silly words frighten you, boys and girls. What can they do to you, other than what you allow? I love this song, not for the words - they mean nothing to me, other than the fact that they are indeed interesting and thought-provoking. I just love it for the groove, nothing more. So put on the helmet and safety belt and let the groove take you for a ride. We are talking about one wild and adventurous ride right straight into downtown Metalville with this one! :-) Reply #241. Mar 16 19, 7:08 AM |

She's makin' magic, oh that's what she does Don't come from below, must come from above And I know she's cast a spell on me 'Cause when she squeezes my hand it makes me weak in the knee..... Makin' Magic - Pat Travers For those of you wild, out of control maniacs out there who like studio recordings better than live, check out the studio version of this tune, then check out the live version from Live - Go For What You Know and see which one ya like better. Fear not, I swear to Rob Halford this is not heavy metal. However, I'll let you in on a little secret - it'll still slam you square on your butt just the same! :-) Reply #243. Mar 16 19, 10:33 PM |

Haha, that’s so sweet you even tried to listen to Dido, as she doesn’t seem like something that fits your genre. Please know I’m not being serious. I’ve got good buddies who love hard rock and Death Cab For Cutie, another soft band. Heck, I love oldies and alt-rock… but I’m also a sucker for the Black Eyed Peas. I love that about people, you can’t fit us in one genre! My parents had a ton of records! Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Journey, The Doors… yeah, they had a ton. Anyway, it’s all good, you don’t have to listen to Dido if you’re not up to it! :) Reply #244. Mar 19 19, 11:56 AM |

Wow, Jen, if your parents were into all that stuff you mentioned, then maybe the Grass Roots really are before their time. Maybe they aren't one day older than I am, maybe I am even older than them! Jeez! I really feel like a wrinkly old man now. :-( Oh, well, that's okay. Getting old and fat and gray and wrinkly and worn out is just all part of life. :-) In the meantime, I still think Embrace the Dork by Stagedork is the most explosive rock and roll album known to man in the whole universe ever since the beginning of time. It makes Priest, Maiden, Anthrax, Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies and Pantera combined look and sound like a roomful of sound asleep newborn infants. I'm so glad I introduced them to the world and got them started. Go get 'em, Stagedork! :-) Reply #245. Mar 19 19, 2:07 PM |

Well, we're big rock singers We've got golden fingers And we're loved everywhere we go We sing about beauty and we sing about truth At ten thousand dollars a show We take all kinds of pills that give us all kinds of thrills But the thrill we never know Is the thrill that'll getcha when you get your picture On the cover of the Rollin' Stone..... Cover of the Rolling Stone - Dr. Hook Jen, there is a part to this song where one guy shouts out "Rock and roll!!" and then they explode with an amazing guitar solo. That's exactly what the guitarist from Stagedork makes Eddie Van Halen look like. Check it out sometime if you have never heard it. :-) Reply #246. Mar 19 19, 2:28 PM |

Yo, Jen, here is a very tender, romantic love song from Alice Cooper that I bet your parents have held hands to and enjoyed together by the fireplace - if they have one of those. I would write the words down but they choke me up and make me cry. :-( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnkgH1PJw2A Reply #247. Mar 19 19, 2:37 PM |

I mentioned this tune on the "Goosebumps" thread the other day. Rock and roll was never intended to be the most intellectual form of art right from the very beginning, but sometimes here and there, it really does have something worthwhile to say. This one could and should be the song of the 20th century as far as I'm concerned. Little child Dry your crying eyes How can I explain The fear you feel inside? 'Cause you were born Into this evil world Where man is killing man And no one knows just why What have we become? Just look what we have done All that we destroyed You must build again When the children cry Let them know we tried 'Cause when the children sing Then the new world begins Little child You must show the way To a better day For all the young 'Cause you were born For the world to see That we all can live With love and peace No more presidents And all the wars will end One united world Under God When the children cry Let them know we tried When the children fight Let them know it ain't right When the children pray Let them know the way 'Cause when the children sing Then the new world begins When the Children Cry - White Lion Reply #248. On the other side of the coin, rock and roll also has priceless gems like this one for us to enjoy..... Now you might take offense To a word like **** or **** (****!) But you ****in' don't have the right (****!) To discriminate me for saying it! :-) Startin' Up a Posse - Anthrax Reply #249. Mar 19 19, 10:14 PM |

To be honest, sadwings, I think my parents are older than you! Could anyone foresee the awesome might that Stagedork would bring into the world?!? I heard at their first concert, they literally blew the roof off. That’s why you can only see them in outdoor stadiums. Ah, yes, I’m positive my parents loved listening to “Street Fight” as they settled down each evening, welcoming its kind melodies and sweet lyrics. :p Dang, “When the Children Cry”… those lyrics were very profound. I see why you put that on the “goosebumps” thread. Heheheh, all of the bleeped out lyrics of that made me smile. I swear a lot and can relate to it. Reply #250. Mar 22 19, 12:17 PM |

Yeah, Jen, it's a lot more fun to actually listen to that Startin' Up a Posse tune rather than just read the words to it. There is even a video to that thing, which I never even knew existed until I looked it up to play it yesterday. So I went to the doctor, see what he could give me He said "Son, son, you've gone too far 'Cause smokin' and trippin' is all that you do" YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Jen, I don't know why, but I just can't imagine you swearing! I'm a biker, it's kinda mandatory, hehehe, so I'm a big ole cusshound, but you're too nice to swear! I was a bit surprised myself about you saying naughty words, Jen. You stop that! :-p By the way, that White Lion tune is also a pretty cool video. Haha! I am a polite person and try not to swear in public, but I do get scolded by my sisters sometimes if I'm too loud. I worry about swearing here so maybe I overcompensate! :D Reply #256. Mar 26 19, 10:45 AM |

I'll miss the winter A world of fragile things Look for me in the white forest Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me) I know you hear me, I can taste it in your tears. Same song.
