From Wikipedia: "Judas Priest are the fathers of modern metal. While Sabbath virtually created the genre and Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer and Pantera finessed and developed the style, it was Priest who gave it a shape and focus in the mid 70s." This day will last forever Deep in the hearts of me Courage and victory Remember, remember.... https://tinyurl.com/y26ojpj6 Reply #121. Sep 09 19, 9:42 AM |

Sorry, I'm kind of behind....I don't know if it's my end, yours, or the internet in general just messing about, but when I got really confused when I clicked the link on post #102 - it was the right song, but the video was nothing like you described. It was a live concert performance with loads of smoke and flashing lights. I looked at it again a couple of days later, and got a "Whoops! There's a problem with this page!" message. Gave it a final try just now and actually got the version I think you originally intended to post! Sepia fantasy art that looks like it's all drawn by the same artist, a very interesting mix of battle scenes, dystopia, demonic imagery, and fantasy females. I wish I could draw like that! Has the song been used in a movie? It sounds very familiar. Might just be because I've played it so many times over this past week trying to view the right video...... Reply #123. Wow, Jo, I'm sorry you had so much trouble with that. I have never heard of anyone having problems with a link quite like what you described, but I guess that doesn't really mean anything one way or another, hardly anyone ever looks at the links I post anyway. Very few, that's for sure. Well, you know a lot more about art than I do, but the vast majority of people do. This "Sepia" term you used - I have no idea what that is. Never heard of it before that I am aware of. If Silent Screams is part of a movie soundtrack, I am not aware of it. The only tune of theirs that is part of a movie soundtrack that I am aware of is their cover of Johnny B. Goode. I had mentioned something about that sometime last year on my Buddy blog and Mark looked it up and told me the name of that particular movie but I have forgotten what it is. Anyway, thanks for putting that much effort into sorting that out. There are so very many things about the internet that I will never understand as long as I live! :-( Reply #124. Hey Jo, if you like those scary horror movies, see if you can watch this next video without being totally terrified out of your mind with bone-chilling horror. I don't know if you will have ever heard of this guy before, I think he is a newcomer to the metal scene. Howling in shadows Living in a lunar spell He finds his heaven Spewing from the mouth of hell... https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1ihlz9 Reply #125. Sep 09 19, 11:03 PM |

Great song. Probably the biggest hit that guy ever had. Brings back a lot of fun memories from the days when I first began to get hair on my chest and first began to smoke things and all kinds of fun stuff. :-) Reply #127. Sep 10 19, 3:51 AM |

Those Judas Priest and Iron Maiden guys only wish they could be as cool and as rocking as the following video. Here's something fun to do when you are watching this with pals. When they say the word "science" by itself, it's lots of fun to sing along to it by shouting out the word "silence" instead. :-) https://tinyurl.com/y6tgcw6w Reply #128. Sep 10 19, 5:08 AM |

Woops. That last link just goes to a blank page. I thought something fishy was going on when I shortened the link. Something just didn't look right at all. Anyway, that was supposed to be Gypsy Road by Cinderella. Cool song and video. Reply #131. Sep 11 19, 10:57 AM |

Here's one that goes back way before Headbanger's Ball was ever even thought about. Creeping up on 3 years that I've been slamming down these songs and videos all over the place around here, and I have never posted this one until now. That's because I have been being Mr. Nice Guy, but you know what? Mr. Nice Guy just left the building. Musically speaking, this one is just about as close to hell unleashed as it gets. You've been warned.... https://tinyurl.com/yxv6b33f Reply #132. Sep 14 19, 6:05 PM |

Wow, look at all the smoldering debris everywhere. Are there any survivors? If so, this next one kicks off the album that was released the following year after that last one. The year was 1978, and the world of heavy metal had never heard anything remotely close to this before. I guess one could say that it planted a seed, to put it very, very lightly. One other note I have to mention, whatever dork is responsible for writing the so called "lyrics" to this song that are displayed on the screen has got my hands-down sparkling, glittering crown for the #1 song on the entire internet with the highest degree of incredibly, outrageously pathetic mistakes from beginning to end. I have honestly never seen anything in my entire life that was this badly riddled with totally inexcusable mistakes. It's kind of funny, but I guess it really kind of figures. Guess you'd probably have to be me to understand what I mean by that. Anyway, stand by for Exciter.... Another one from the Priestly archives that goes back before Headbanger's Ball was even thought about. It's worth it just to check out the lyrics on this one. There are no names mentioned, but you guys can trust me on this - the first part of the song relates to Janis Joplin, the second part relates to Jimi Hendrix, and the last part relates to James Dean. Just be careful if you are daring enough to actually play this with the volume turned up. This one takes no prisoners and plays absolutely no games whatsoever, my friends. The pure essence of Holy Priestliness. https://tinyurl.com/y6nlqmx3 Reply #136. Oct 19 19, 3:52 AM |
