Anybody remember Headbanger's Ball on MTV in the 80s and 90s? This is the place to be if you like that kind of noisy stuff. Thought I'd throw a bunch of boss-rocking videos from that era, and I'm sure many from outside that era, and please do feel free to contribute. If it isn't exactly classified as metal or if you aren't really sure, don't worry about it. As long as it rocks a little bit on the harder side. Anything with bands performing on stage or anywhere else along with out of control fans stage diving and crowd surfing is great, but this is certainly not intended to be limited to that. Just grab a fistful of metal and see if you can punch my lights out with it. :-)

Halford is "chill", ay? Hee hee! Word up, yo! Yo, Rob, why you be so chill, brah? My, look at who is becoming a Priest fan all of a sudden. I tried to get you to check out some of their tunes a couple of years ago but I guess you never did. Starting to see why I've been a fan of theirs for about 45 years now, ay? "You listen to Judas Priest? Ha ha ha! They're just a backup band!" That was a comment that was made to me, I guess that's been about 42 years ago now. Now they are the by God Metal Gods all over God's front lawn. :-p So you think ol' Dave Holland was a pretty boss drummer, ay? Yeah, that cat was pretty good, but check out their latest drummer, a guy who has been with them since they released the almighty by God Painkiller in '91. Scott by God Travis. I can't keep up or catch up to you! It's telling me your "Hot For Teacher" video is no longer available, so I watched it in YouTube, assuming it's the official video? But why would that be unavailable?? So instead, I watched Van Halen Live At Castle Donington Park in 1984. Now that crowd was wild! Security had to remove someone from the stage! What the heck are they throwing into the air?? Diamond Dave is his usual wild self -- ever notice he really can't sing? He just kind of talks the words to his songs, really loud! Eddie is happy as a clam; so is Michael Anthony -- I think that's his name, isn't it? People are really complaining about the camera work on this video, but all I really noticed is how happy they all are! I do love Van Halen -- well, I like them, but this isn't my favorite song. Okay, I kind of liked Anthrax -- "Antisocial," but only kind of. I do give them credit for being very talented, though. They're just a little rough for me. That would be a scary crowd to be in as a girl! No way without some serious backup would I even consider it! I also didn't see a single girl in that crowd. And no way would I have guessed that Ozzy was under that mask! That was a great ending! They've got some great videos. They will be making more loud noises in here for sure. I'm not sure about the "Official Video" thing, but yeah, Hot For Teacher was the one I had meant for you to check out. I love how that nerdy kid is talking like John Wayne! There are a few more Priestly Priest performances that were taped live all over God's front lawn that seem to be eluding me for whatever reason, but I will try to find them when I can get around to it. Wow, I guess I wasn't even aware that there was a live video of that VH number. At least I don't think I've ever seen it before. I'll have to hunt that down later. Okay, Elle, what would you think if I introduced you to a studly blonde singer who would make you want to push Sebastian out of the way just so you could get to him? Well, okay, I guess that would probably never happen, but I know how you are about studly blonde singers, and I guess this next guy is pretty studly for a David Lee Roth wannabe. This tune is also another great example of more of those misunderstood lyrics. The first few times I heard this thing, I thought they were saying "smooth opinion." Boy, have I got some serious catching up to do! Sorry, Kev, I've been out sick the last couple of days, but I'm here now. That last Bulletboys track kind of reminded me of an album that I wore out on cassette tape back in the early 90s. It was called Extreme II : Pornograffitti, by a band called Extreme, who were kind of like a cross between Van Halen and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. A lot of the tracks probably aren't suitable for posting here - they're very tongue in cheek and kinda poking fun at songs like Smooth...erm....'Opinion' but are for grownups only! Hey! BLT is in here with us now, too! Hi BLT! Kevin, I told you I watched a live version of Van Halen and "Hot For Teacher!" And oh my... Oh my, my, my... I do like Bulletboys and "Smooth Opinion," which is also what I am positive they are saying! I love that lead singer -- I love everyone in that band, but that Front Man can really move. Good lord. That Front Man does kind of remind me of a cross between David Lee Roth and Sebastian Bach, but with muscles. I think DLR is the wannabe, though. I don't know why I like the tall, skinny boys, but I always have. But I do like muscles, too! This song sounds a lot like Billy Squier's "Stroke," especially the chorus. And I think Billy should be sometimes heard, and never seen -- that guy really, really can't move at all and just looks silly on a stage when he tries to dance around. Didn't that song and the official video ruin his career? It was one of his songs, as I recall. You know that I am Pure As The Driven Snow, right? A veritable lamb to the slaughter in this thread? This is why I'm so positive he's singing "Smooth Opinion"! What else would he be singing about? This video is now officially my second favorite video in the world! Led Zeppelin singing "The Ocean" live at Madison Square Garden when they're all in their early 20's is still m all-time favorite. And hey! I do know and love Extreme! Hooray for Jo, showing up with a band I know and love! I know I just barely logged back on, but I am too tired to type or play trivia, and I think I must sleep. I did the hourlies and played 3 Duels, and that's as much as I can do right now. Gotta keep my brain unfritzed -- it's vital, at this point. Hey, Jo, I've been wondering about you. I'm glad you are feeling better and glad you are here. Yeah, I remember all three of those Extreme videos. Thanks for posting those, that was a lot of fun watching those again. I never thought about it before but I guess they really are kind of like RHCP, at least that first one you posted. That Bettencourt guy really made quite a name for himself as being an awesome guitarist, as I'm sure you know. What are those cats doing now, do you know? Any of them still out there in the music scene? Rock and roll is so cool and out of control, and hey, what do you know, I have videotaped proof of it right here! :-) Something is telling me that I've played this next video for you before on one of these other threads, Jo, but I would have tossed it in here sooner or later anyway. You will notice a few objects that I will just call "recreational machines" in this video that you may have seen others like them a time or two. Hey, thanks for your input, Triangle. Is it okay if I call you that? What about BLT?
