The Suez Canal Bridge, crossed the Suez Canal at El Qantara
The El Ferdan Railway Bridge is a swing bridge that spans the Suez Canal not far north of Ismailia, Egypt. It is the longest swing bridge in the world, with a span of 1100 ft (340 m)Even more remarkable for a swing bridge is that this is a railway bridge where rails must be exactly aligned to ensure no derailment. There is also an electrical cable crossing. Because the required clearance over the Suez Canal is 152 meters, the overhead line has two 221 metere high pylons to traverse the crossing.
