The Loch Ness Monster, Nessiteras rhombopteryx means 'the Ness monster with diamond-shaped wings'

The body in charge of recognising scientific names of animals, the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, do not accept scientific names for organisms which have not been proven to exist, such as the Loch Ness Monster, as these fall outside the scope of science.
