What strange race record is held by Shizo Kanakuri from Japan?

Shizo Kanakuri holds the record for the longest time to complete a marathon at 54 years, 249 days, 5 hours, 32 minutes, 20.3 seconds! He started the Olympic marathon at the 1912 Stockholm games and did not actually complete the race until 20 March 1967. He started the marathon in 1912 but collapsed and out of embarrassment he went home without letting anyone in Sweden know. Once he was discovered still alive the Swedish government invited him to return and finish his marathon with full press fanfair.
