The name of this star doesn't exactly trip off the tongue. It's known as PSR J1748-2446ad.

This pulsar at 716 Hz, spins at 43,000 revolutions per minute. It was discovered in 2004 by Jason W. T. Hessels from McGill University, Canada.

The star is about 18,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius.
