American sound designer Gary Rydstrom created the T. rex's roar in "Jurassic Park" (1993).
He blended various animal sounds quite creatively to do so, including a baby elephant for the high-frequency screaming sound, a tiger for the deeper-frequency growls, and even an alligator for the rumbling, wet throat sounds.
