Barney's middle name remains a mystery but according to the episode "Class Reunion" Barney's middle name is Milton. But sometimes he is called "Bernard P. Fife", but Andy says at one point, "I thought your middle name was Oliver!"

thefixxer is correct. I was watching the "Class Reunion," episode tonight. Andy opened their Class Yearbook to both their senior photo pages. Andrew Jackson Taylor and Bernard Milton Fife were the names adjacent to the photos.

Barney may have been aka "Oliver," when doing undercover work in Mayberry!
