Earlier this week, I was fortunate enough to win the Impossible Badge. Now come to find out, my wife seems to think that I should have been named that, years ago.

Congrats on that, Mark. I'm not sure what that is, but it sounds like something I would never have a chance at. I have a hard enough time winning badges that have the word "easy" attached to them. Just like earlier today when I finally made tier 1 on the easy 50/50 game. Took me long enough!

Congrats, Mark, on the badge! Waiting on grades can be a little edgy, but I know you'll emerge victorious! Woo-hoo! School's out for me for the next 15, count 'em, 15 days! It's been a rough semester for all of us, so when the last child left the building today, all the teachers figuratively cart-wheeled down the halls with abandon! (I suspect that more than a few were headed off to local watering holes to celebrate the opening hours of semester break). I love all the children, but God, all that young energy can be wearing! Christmas shopping is basically done, and the only item left to accomplish is the ritual baking and icing of the Christmas cookies. My family meets for festivities on Sunday, the 23rd and I can hardly wait for everybody to gather. Next on the agenda, books to read, old movies to watch, a new jigsaw to assemble, and yay - shopping for yarn to replenish my stash in the after Christmas sales. Bliss! Here's wishing all of you a blessed Christmas season with family and friends and some "calm" time too, just for yourselves. Anne

I was fortunate enough to win my Knockout Tournament this week.
I only play when I'm not in school. I'm on Christmas break right now.

Merry Christmas to all of you, and a New Year filled with health and blessings! Our family "do" was wonderful - enlivened by my two great-nieces, aged 5 and 8. Turkey, dressing, egg nog, Christmas cookies, much good cheer and laughter. It's so special to have all four of us sibs together! Right now, I've got a duck in the oven, sweet potatoes will go in shortly, along with a green bean casserole. I'm reheating some of the dressing from the other night. Small and simple. I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon watching movies, knitting, and counting my blessings. Happy Yuletide to you all! Anne

Christmas should be all about the children.

I agree. It is a very magical time for kids, like no other time of the year, and I don't feel it necessarily has anything to do with religion, it is just simply about love and humanity. Yes, it is a celebration of the birth of Christ, but I feel one can still participate without necessarily focusing on that, if that's what suits them. As you say, at least for the sake of the children of the world everywhere. That's my opinion.
