Diana Gabaldon's The Fiery Cross has 1412 pages and is 2.5 inches thick in paperback. Of course it's book 5 in a series of 6, all of which I've read, probably about 6 -7,000 pages in all. All were in paperback - I don't think I could lift them in hardback! Reply #162. Aug 07 07, 1:50 PM |

Probably LOTR although Idon't know how many pages that is. Les Miserables felt like the longest book I've read, but that was probably because there were lots of bits I couldn't get into. Reply #163. Aug 08 07, 4:03 AM |

the longest book i've read all the way through more than once has to be LOTR, but as someone said earlier it didn't seem that long to me as I just love reading I go into my own little world and completely forget everything and anyone. Reply #166. Aug 08 07, 9:12 AM |

It would have to be Paradise Lost by Milton. It's not as long as LOTR or GWTW but it's a bugger to get thru. Reply #167. Aug 08 07, 9:26 AM |

War and Peace, many many pages in tiny tiny print, but I did it, and by the time I was finished, I actually enjoyed it. Reply #168. Aug 09 07, 2:33 PM |

I can't remember which was longer, The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons, both by Dan Brown, but one of those would be my longest. Reply #169. Aug 10 07, 6:30 PM |

Chronicles of Narnia, Mists of Avalon, Harry Potter the Order of the Phoenix, Stephen Kings: IT, The Stand, and The Talisman (cowritten with Peter Straub). I'm ready to re-read Mists of Avalon (exceptional tale of early British Isles)and The Talisman (I just learned there is also a Talisman II). Reply #171. Aug 10 07, 9:58 PM |

All Harry Potter Books 8 times each-if that counts for something! I've also the Inheritence Series 17 times! If you add all the pages together i guess it could count for 20,128--i'm pretty sure that Eragon has 497 and Eldest has 687--so 20,128 should be right-i used a calculator-LOL Reply #176.
