Depends on whether you count a series as a single book (like LOTR) - in which case, it'll probably be the Discworld series because it's got so many :P Read quite a few fantasy novels, many of which have around 600 pages. I'm a fast reader, though, so large amounts of pages don't bother me too much. Reply #201. Sep 07 08, 11:15 AM |

I read Nicholas Nickleby (750 pgs) last year. I always joke that it doesn't get exciting till page 600... a long wait for most people. Reply #203. Sep 22 08, 2:07 PM |

I think it was the last Harry Potter book, but it wasn't long enough. I'm going to try to read that 1000 page book of Stephen King...something about a antique shop? Reply #204. Oct 08 08, 7:37 PM |

The Complete works of Shakespeare (2899 pg, tissue paper tiny print). It was a bit of a bet I had with myself after I was given a beautiful leather bound, gold embossed all in one volume. Enjoyed all of it, only really absorbed about one fourth . . . no one fifth at best Reply #205. Oct 09 08, 2:10 AM |

Not a clue. Most of the books I read are between 300 and 600 pages, frequently someone hands me something longer or shorter. I've read a few that were 1k+, no idea now which is which. Reply #206. Nov 21 08, 3:02 PM |

I've read a lot of James Michener's work. Hawaii was my favorite and I've read it 3 or 4 times never getting bored with it. He also wrote one called Space which was excellent. his books are very long. I love long books! Reply #207. Mar 13 09, 8:06 PM |

Honestly couldn't say - some are over 500 or 600 pages. Maybe Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, that's quite long with tiny print. Reply #208. Mar 14 09, 7:58 AM |

Da Vinci Code, it wasnt long in physical terms, just seemed really really loooong when I was ploughing my way through the ill-crafted words. Reply #210. Mar 14 09, 4:14 PM |

I'm Bac for More Cash by Tony Kornheiser. It's about 400 pages. I'm not much of a reader. I've read about 4 books in my life that were over 150 pages. Reply #214. Apr 16 09, 11:25 PM |

I read all seven volumes of Proust too, in English, but it might have been in French or Greek for all I remember of it. Reply #215. Apr 17 09, 3:09 PM |

I agree with Golf Mom, I love long books. The longer the better. I love all the James Michener books. I also love Gary Jennings, he has super long books. I've read lots and lots of books over 1,000 pages but none over 2,000. Don't even know of any that long. Any suggestions anybody? Reply #218. Jun 02 09, 11:48 PM |
