Howdy howdy howdy!
Just as an announcement-- On its 228th round and after 456 weeks (that's more than eight years!), The Random Idea Chamber (TRIC) will be closing its doors. There are approximately five months of the game still plugged in to run, providing opportunities to win X, Y, and Z points until the end of July, but after that, the game will be retired.
To note, this will mean that the TRICster, TRIC X, TRIC Y, and TRIC Z badgelets will be retired as well as the TRIC Trophy. All of these (save for TRICster) are upgradable. The badgelets cap out at 50 and the TRIC Trophy caps out at 150.
With as much as we have on FunTrivia in the way of activities both for players and creators, TRIC made the most sense to start wrapping up, especially with the introduction of the Author Masterpiece game, which extrapolates on TRIC's original idea with a lot more creativity, better timelines, cooler rewards, and less manual input (TRIC has to be manually typed in-- every single subcategory...including all the subcategories within them-- every two weeks!). But this being said, there's still plenty of time and inspiration to be taken so that authors can snag rewards until it goes away at the end of the Lounge's 15th Anniversary in July.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this wacky idea we developed nearly a decade ago and congratulations to everyone who took these random ideas and spun them into gold.

Too bad I didn't get into this stuff earlier. I also enjoyed the rush during these final rounds, and the thrill of having to write on topics that were absolutely obscure to me. When we made the decision to end TRIC at the start of this year I set myself up to hit a point every round either in Y or Z to round out my badgelets. Two of those got ECs, and I wouldn’t have written them otherwise. Reply #64. Aug 02 23, 8:20 AM |
