boxjaw - what are some of your favorites? I also like the ELO, Pink Floyd, Styx and Alan Parsons album covers. Not any particular one but pretty much every one. Reply #2. Aug 16 11, 11:53 AM |

Who's Next The Who I was young when I got that album took me a little while to realize what they were doing Reply #3. Aug 16 11, 12:26 PM |

I think 'Exit, Stage Left' by Rush is a great cover referencing all their previous album covers to that date. I've always had a fondness though for the great 'Black Rose - A Rock Legend' by Thin Lizzy. Reply #4. Aug 16 11, 1:04 PM |

Sgt. Pepper of course, Sticky Fingers by the Stones (the zipper still works on mine), Sailor by The Steve Miller Band (I'd commit homicide to get either of those guitars), In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson (very scary), Simple Dreams by Linda Ronstadt (if I were the photographer, I would have made that cover shoot last all day), In Search of the Lost Chord by the Moody Blues and Come Dancing with the Kinks. Another good Beatles cover is Revolver. I spent too much time trying to find all the hidden Beatle pictures, like George peeking out from his own ear...or something like that. Have to agree on Sticky Fingers also. And I think the Foghat album Fool For the City had a guy fishing in a manhole in the middle of a busy city street. Always like that one. Reply #6. Forgot to mention that Led Zeppelin put out In Through the Out Door in a paper bag and the Nirvana Nevermind cover was pretty clever too. Reply #7. Aug 19 11, 2:43 PM |

Always used to like Yes's covers, back in the day. And the R Crumb cover for Janis Joplin's Big Brother and the Holding Company album. The Kinks' "Schoolboys in Disgrace" is cheeky. Reply #8. Aug 19 11, 3:57 PM |

Anything by Iron Maiden. Understandably not to everybody's liking, but great art work. Reply #10. Aug 19 11, 7:49 PM |

The Moody Blues had some awesome album covers, like Kansas' "Leftoverture". ELO and Boston with their spaceships. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was a classic and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John, just to name a few... Reply #12. Aug 23 11, 7:40 PM |

Sgt Pepper, Dark Side of the Moon, X&Y. The first two are obvious, X&Y looks like nothing, but it's actually a type of writing. The cover says, obviously, X&Y. Reply #13. Aug 24 11, 1:57 AM |

One that I like is "Emerson Lake & Palmer", "Brain Salad Surgery". I liked how the album cover split in half and you had another picture inside. Art by H.R. Giger. Reply #17. Aug 25 11, 12:21 PM |

I always liked the art for the album "Santana". It was a drawing that was kind of an optical illusion with a woman hidden in a picture of a lion's face. Also, loved the covers for the band Yes and also the Moody Blues. Reply #18. Aug 25 11, 12:56 PM |
